This is something that emassspicoli would say.

If you're really not emassspicoli, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you have a twin brother out there somewhere.

If he’s an asshole, then nope, but if he’s tall handsome hung and has a well versed vernacular then it’s a carbon copy

Agreed. Some places respect doesn't get you a set wave. Neither does being a good surfer. At places like this, you don't get to play when the locals are in the sandbox.

At other places, the simple gesture of not scrapping for waves wins you respect, and gets you a few set waves, guaranteed.

That’s where the rub is for me personally - if I play by the rules and still get shit on purely out of DISrespect and some tribal local idea that it’s their beach. Or because I suck and their good... but i find in my case usually, I can earn people’s respect pretty easily in situations just by being patient...let them acclimate to you and make their decision on how they see you, don’t feel your entitled to it automatically.

Never done this, but would like to if situation warrants it - take a squirt gun, fill it with cooking oil, paddle out, and nail the offender with a nice coating of Mazola on his chest and boart. He won't even be able to paddle in. SUPers watch out, I may do this IRL next swell, just so I can report back on this here site, (prolly from a holding cell knowing my luck). Whenever I start shit I pay, as long as I react properly it goes smooth. Such is life.

At Sebastian Inlet, one of the go to moves back in the day on the 1st peak right, if dropped in on by another rider going frontside - fly up right behind him, grab the back of his shorts and pull him off his board as you slingshot past. It's a hoot.
