Hey I saw some dude from Delaware at my spot on Friday on the street. I forgot to check his plates for any SWELLINFO vanity stuff. Just saw they were Delaware tags from my vantage point. Couldn't see the letters.

Damn, imagine if that was Mr. Swellinfo Guy. I could have slashed his tires. And put dog doo on his windshield.

Yeah dude, lots of us spoke out to get your bans lifted. For some reason it didn't really work, things were different then. Mods took things more seriously, this place was life or death.

 

I got perma-banned from some other site for speaking out against another member, who also happened to be an undercover moderator. A real prick. They kept banning people who didn't go along with their way of thinking/surfing, or turned them into pariahs because they had the audacity to surf different boards and think differently about their way of surfing. It was un-freaking-believable.

Now...that site is dead. Gone the way of the Dodo Bird. Freaking hilarious.

The guidelines here are vague, capricious & subjectively enforced - - no one even knows what is 'approved' to post up anymore.

Riley is one of the few Swellies who posts original & thought-provoking items, both surfing & non-surfing related; he's intelligent, he spells correctly & he actually uses paragraphs; Riley is one of this Forum's deep thinkers (whereas, ahem, it must be said you could learn from that) & Riley broaches topics that everyone is thinking but few are saying.

Is it Riley's occasional substance references? Hey, cannabis is legal in many states & soon will be on the fed level, too.

Is it flame wars? Riley doesn't really engage unless you count his good-natured bi-coastal jousting with Spicoli.

Man, can we just stop it with all this banning nonsense? It all seems so randome and arbitrary. It accomplishes absolutely nothing. I mean, we're all still gonna act like a bunch of assholes anyway. And this cloak of secrecy that the mods hide behind is BS. Man up and take responsibility for your actions. At least give an explanation for the bannings otherwise we're all left wondering WTF. Also, it's almost always the ones that contribute the most interesting stuff here (Yank, Riley, etc). If ya keep on this track you'll be left with nothing but a bunch of mason lessres who start new 'best' threads and promptly abandonne them. This line up regulates itself quite well IMO. The ones who end up all butt hurt over something somebody typed on a surf predictin' web suite phorum don't belong here in the first place.
