Does it have soul? But those guys don't know what to do in the ocean. It doesn't belong in the Olympics. Who cares? Soul? How many hockey players have never put blades down on a frozen pond or lake? Fundementals? The guy still paddles into the waves. Olympics? If curling and chess are recognized, why not. Let's remember the number one most important takeaway: Surfing Sells
If I had a wave pool, you would definitely find me there, I would absolutely love to try one! Do I prefer the ocean, yes, but I would 100% give the wave pool a try!! At least in a wave pool I can find my sheet if it gets thrown in!
I get my rocks off thinking about the transfer of energy from the sun (98 million miles away) to the air, to the water, and finally in a beautiful crescendo... to me. Wave pools don't do this, so its not nearly as visceral an experience. With that said, I have never surfed one, and given the opportunity I would. Why not? Surfing in the olympics.... i don't know
Since it's been flat here, a wave pool would be great. Plus it would give me a chance to fug myself up bouncing off the concrete bottom.
I'm in this camp. Dudes, everything moves in waves...and we found ones we get to ride. Idk, that's just me..
And remember one thing about a wave pool that beats an ocean break, its fair. Everyone gets his turn and no one is better than anyone else. All the messy unknowns are taken out of the equation and valuables can be safely stored in a locker and not on the beach where the savages can get at them.
So we're going to end a discussion on wave pools by having a discussion about wave pools? Seems counter intuitive.
Pool surfin' is like doinking missionary, if you haven't in a while it might be fun but it gets boring quickly. Besides no paddle battle, aggro aholes and shoulderhoppers to pit would take a lot out of the equation. Not sayin' I wouldn't but can't imagine getting the same stoke from it.
