I hear ya. I guess Im just thinkin the more the better.

As for the app. Having the hour by hour functionality would be great. I don't really expect much from the app though. Its an app.

I don't use the app, just use the site on my phone. For my area its usually pretty good. Iv noticed some things, but Iv gotten used to them so it's not so much of an issue for me. For instance, sometimes it could be blue showing NE winds at let's say 12mph. Not exactly offshore here but close enough. Then it goes up to 15 and it turns red...I get it must be part of the programming or whatever. But I swear sometimes I it could be green while showing the same data. Dosn't make sense. Or maybe I'm imagining that. Anyway, out makes looking at a glance misleading at times. But I don't look at a glance so it's ok by me.

My only input would be to change the updates to every hour or even every 3 or something. I don't usually use the site for the wind as it's generally a bit off compared to my weather app. But so much can change in 6 hours.

For example, most of the week and last night it was showing W/WSW winds. Since I don't trust the wind forecast on here I checked the weather app. Which was showing WNW. So given this data I wasnt sure of I should get up early to surf. So I did just to be safe and check. That update was at 6 PM. I'm asleep before midnight and up before 6 AM. Turns out wind were NW this morning and offshore. The site did change the forecast and had it right, but you had to be up at midnight or after 6 to see it. If it updated more frequently it would make planning your surfs a bit easier.

Those who need an "app", or an "iPhone", or a Computer to go surfing, should sell their boards and take up tipping cows in the mountains.
Usually, what you get on arrival is vastly different than what your tech gear told you was there.
The cows, however, haven't moved, so have at them...tip away!

^^^^^ This is why I'm ok with the site not being completely accurate. I love the days when it's red, but I know better, wake up early to check the wind by walking outside. Might be onshore but super light. No one out. loafs of fun. Thank you SI for using colors, deters allot of people from showing up when they see red.

Actually that gives me an idea. Why not make the forecast permanently red? Throw green and blue out. But keep all the data and what not. We will never see those guys who just look at the colors to tell them if it's good or not ever again.

I agree with bassmon - there are times when I know it's good but the Forecaste is off. Which is nice cause I'm the only one out.

But that being said I basically don't relie on the forecaste anymore since it's so inaccurate

So you should probably change or update something cause it's usually way off

agree. For years now, it's been pretty noticeable how lineup counts at certain spots correlate more to certain forecasts, than actual conditions. Bad forecasts help a lot with crowds.

Better than needing a computer to have a place to be a d!ck, Barry. Isnt there a down-and-out bar up there in NH where you can go talk to like-minded sheep fvckers?

Just wanted to mention again that the app is way off on anything close to prediction. Its head high with plus sets right now and the app (on the day of the actual swell, not 5 days out) says its 2-3 feet.

Just also wanted to mention that all the people that made this place fun are banned. I'm not a minute by minute guy, but I get the feeling that some of them probably had it coming. I'm not interested in seeing porn on forum, and honestly, I'm not that into bashing people online. There is some ribbing that occurs here, but we're mostly grown men.

Maybe you, whoever you are who pulls the strings around here, should give an election day pardon to the regular guys, let it be known that the old SI is back, and to keep the 'locker room' chatter pg-13.

This is a surf forum, man. You don't show up at someone's break and start cherry picking waves. You have to earn your spot in the lineup. It aint pig farming.
