I wonder how many were killed in Vietnam and if your perspective is the same from that vantage point. Both sides have faults when it comes to abortion and women's rights. You can't make blanket statements from the far left nor from the far right and expect anyone to take you serious. Some on the left think it is ok at the end of the second term because baby momma and daddy made a mistake while some on the right truly have spiritual beliefs.

Assuming that money buys influence (safe bet), doesnt funding your own campaign just mean you are vulnerable to being influenced by your OWN self interests, where someone who depends on funding makes them vulnerable to being influenced by the interests of the donors....

actually that's not true. Some conservatives want it illegal based on theocratic reasons. Many republicans (in fact an official position) don't want tax payer funds to pay for abortions.
