Its so easy you don't even need directions. Get out on Rt 50 eastbound somewhere between the beltway and Annapolis anytime before 7 a.m. on a weekend. Dont worry about whether there are waves or not. Look for the first huge SUV loaded with Walden longboards or SUPs. Drive behind them for a couple hours and they will pull into Assateague National Seashore. You will have found the place where everyone from DC goes to surf (and possibly actually surf) and potential ride-sharers. Surf season is getting underway so the clock is ticking.

Surfing in DC is like Stanley Cups within the Beltway: nonexistent

They've closed the eastern shore beaches this wknd for pollution cleanup. Apparently, too many douchebags fouling the ocean.

    Hey Johnny,

Didn't your mother ever warn you not get into cars with strangers? This is how you end up hogtied and buttplugged in the back of a windowless van. Maybe that's what you're looking for though. I think you should make a herro thread and properrleey introduce yourself. Getting back to your mother, dig up some bikini pics of the old lady from back in the day and post them up. Current GF pics would work as well. How long have you been surfing? What boart do you ryde?

    Hi Kook from PA,

Thanks for heads up, I think I can tell when I meet a person whether he or she is dangerous, they can certainly tell if I'm or not. but I like your idea of opening a new thread and introduce myself. Thanks. Honestly, I only took three surfing lessons in CA so far, bought a wavestorm 8' board from Costco.that's about it. could you tell me which place nearby has the most reliable wave? Im still learning how to read surf report, and looking for a beginner friendly spot to surf.

There's a few septic discharges that create a nice little standing wave in the Potomac. Just follow your nose and you're bound to score

Thanks, Yankee and kidde. but i'm looking for more local places, like in Delaware and Maryland? I heard Herring Point in Delaware has very reliable waves?

What the Kook said +1. Clown might even hook you up with his broheim Herlihy for tow-ins this wknd - - with that long period swell pushing in, heck, you could zoom all the way from Herring to Clown's unlubed dune parties @ 48th.
