I don't think you can hold the Cream label against Tony. I have an old Cream boards and it was shaped by Bill Shrosbree and is a great board. He's been shaping since the late 50's, and he's shaped with many legends for many labels. I think he shaped my old delapidated Stewart Hydro Hull as well. I have no idea how he ended up doing boards for the Cream label though, considering all the big name lables he's done. I think Cream label was resurrected recently and now Tony is having them produced in OBX, not sure by who though.

That said, you might want to ask Tony about the shaper who did the Canyons and Surfboard Australias he carries. Must be two of the most experienced shapers in China :)

I personally would take a chance on a shaper that didn't have a high number of boards under his belt if his boards seemed solid and he got good feedback. Not to say that experience doesn't count, but so does hard work, talent, work ethic etc etc. And if Tony started carrying Brian Wynn's boards, I might actually stop by the shop.

I my first custom from an east coast shaper a year ago, was a great experience and I got a great board. Have another custom on order now. I cant see myself going back to an off the rack big brand board. Not to say that won't work, but my feeling is for the money why not get exactly what I want.
