so i know in nj there are some areas where the beach is simply off limits and you eithor cant get to it or its closed off with 100$ fines for accessing it... i can understand why, being a shore resident i didnt like to see people coming into my town to simply take photos, walk around, or even surf, if they had never picked up a hammer to help us at least, while everyone was cleaning up the wreckage from the super **** storm. so i am wondering about long island? how is beach access, all gated off, can you get to the water without being reamed out by some bacon(cop)?
does anyone know how the sandbars are at long beach? did they get messed up in the storm? i haven't surfed long beach since just before Sandy and am trying to get out there this weekend. any thoughts would be awesome!
i think the break has changed, it seems to have a reform inside and then breaks on the beach... or way outside, falling off.. for today where they are saying fair to good conditions, I see no one out on either of two cams... doesn't look that good. access now is anywhere its a mess.
I appreciate the responses. I was worried about that being the case... it's such a shifty sandbar to begin with that I figured a monster storm was going to create problems. Might be time to head to tried and true rocky point breaks in new hampshire....
