no brad this is not what surfers say this is what alot of kooks say. dont give advice if its the wrong advice bradpittedInHisNettedboardshorts its deepest on the peak brad, grow a pair and sit under the lip you shoulder hoppin kook
It's really not maneuverability that distinguishes a noserider from other longboard designs. It's more about design features that facilitate lift in the nose, trim through the middle, and drag in the tail. Noseriders typically are single fins, have slightly wider, rounder noses for more planing area, have flatter entry rockers, accelerated tail kick, rails are soft and round or slightly pinched without hard edges in the tail, and usually have vee or rolled vee bottoms in the tail and some concave under the nose. This is typical for true "noserider" style longboards, although a lot of other longboards can be ridden from the nose, including HPLBs with more rocker, modern rails with hard edges, thruster or 2+1 fin setups.
+1, I can nose ride my 9' HPLB, it's a single fin like you mentioned and has a decent rocker to handle steeper waves. It's a blast to ride from the tail but it's very versatile so if i'm in the mood I can get on the nose and have some fun too.
Sorry brad. He's got you. Stop attempting to speak from authority/experience. You don't seem to have any. There's lots of people who have been where you are in your surfing, as far as knowing what's what, but for the most part they don't really broadcast it and come off as ignorantly as you do while unwilling to learn. You must be the absolute worst to surf with.
Your Wave or My Wave? The different types of waves and how they break are described in the next section about peeling waves, so if you don't understand any of the naming go and have a look there. Here we'll concern ourselves with who has the right to be on a wave. Before continuing, we would just say that you should make sure that you're not selfish when you surf. Waves should be shared. The locals who surf a spot every day should not have to fight tooth and nail for every wave against incoming surfers, and locals should let incoming surfers have waves as well. It's all about sharing! However, who has the right-of-way? Priority on the Wave Basically, the surfer who is closest to the breaking part of the wave has priority. If a surfer is up and riding a wave, then it's that surfer's wave. Whose Wave is it Anyway? If two surfers are going for the same wave and it is not clear who has the inside, then it is down to who is on their feet first. (This is really the only case of first come first served.) If you're surfing a wave that is peaking with both a left and a right, then communication is the key. If you're going to go left, then let the other guy know. A nice loud "Left!" should get everyone's attention! There is no reason that two people should surf the same wave in this case.
If "first to your feet" is a rule, I quit surfing. It's whoever is deepest. If the deepest guy is obviously gonna get crunched and can't make the wave, go for it. I see that a lot. Homies be sittin on top of the rocks blowing waves for everyone. Pick a reasonable spot if you're going to jockey for waves.
first to your feet does count. If I am sitting outside, wave comes and I'm up and riding and you just scoop under me, you are in for a snake-prise. you can totally blow me if you think cause you are a few body lengths 'deeper' than me but are still paddling when I am up riding you have priority
yea should have elaborated.. what i meant is EC doesnt have no 3rd reef outer break so unless your on a long board or its a massive day and huge sets come out the back in general your gonna be on the same peak and its gonna come down to whose sitting the deepest
WRONG. I have surfed many ec breaks where the same waves come in all day on a swell and short boarders have no chance unless they are practically sitting on the "inside". Longboarders call you and others like you kook confetti as we have to spend the entire wave weaving around you..... And you shortboarders refuse to go to a different spot when the spot is clearly a longboard wave.
brad you have zilch experience you are too big of a poonani to say something to a guy whose sitting on the peak the whole time and since your sucha cat you decide dropping in on him is better than saying something... then you come on here claim your a big guy and that if someone dropped in on you "they'd really get it" after some dude tosses your shiete in the water not givin a singe fark about your pathetic az and then to top off all that kookery you go off about shoulder hopping and priority like your rob machado and know all there is to surfing.. quit the act dude your a straight kook stop givin shiety advice when you need the advice yourself
I catch a lot of waves. so many waves your head would spin. Btw that surf nazi pulled a huge pssy move as he knew there was no way I would be able to get in fast enough to get my hands on him. believe me, if I were in arms reach he'd never had done that to me.
