You can get a higher durometer wheel so that you can still carve but you will also be able to slide. That would enhance the surfing feel. The sector9 luke skywalker is pretty similar to that hamboard.

 

I ran down to bnw yesterday to look at longboards and saw originals there, the trucks are so loose they look like really fun boards

i tried all the carvers, i thought they were horrendous. people who didnt surf always say how much carver trucks feel like surfing... i vote bennett vector front truck airflow rear truck
