Just redesigned my site Longboard the World and am stoked to share the link with everyone! The site features longboard pics, stories, videos and links. Please tell me what you think about it or have any suggestions to make it better. Enjoy and stay stoked! http://longboardtheworld.com Thanks, Arsen
Nice site man. Always love checking out surf sites and checking out people's photos. Just a little suggestion- you may want to change the color of the print in the stories section. I was trying to read one of the stories, but the brown print matches the color of rocks of the shore line you used as a back ground so I could not read it. Otherwise, from what I saw, liked the site and will be back to check it again.
the body movements longboarders do is really hilarious to me. some throw their arms in the air, some stick them out to the side, some even point out straight in front of them. i have a couple longboards that i take out when my fish can't hack it but i don't think i've ever done any crazy pyrotechnics to bring extra attention to myself. not trying to rile anyone up here, just kind of think it's funny how strictly longboarders ride waves very cool site by the way
Monko, Thanks! The stories do have a wood background behind them. It must not have loaded in all the way. Happens some times. The site's got some heavy image files with all the details in the art. Make sure to hit refresh next time if it doesn't load the file the first time. We usually get a swell once a week here in the winter. It's not California, but it's something to ride with some days providing clean and fun waves.
Ride, Thanks! I agree some loggers get a bit nutty with their body movements. I was hanging out with Allan Weisbecker (In Search of Captain Zero) in Costa Rica and his thing was that longboarders have more style. Kevin Connelly was also with us and he believes longboarders have more fun. I say, enjoy what ever equipment you're riding and make it look as stylish as possible.
no doubt, style is key. there's this one longboarder here in OB that can do 360's, handstands, ride on one foot... and he does it with ease. dude wears a springsuit in upper 50 degree water! mad props to all longboarders who are pushing the bounds of their equipment.
I enjoy riding different equipment and must say I get the biggest smile riding a longboard because of all the things you can do on them.
