    Hello everyone,

For the past few years I have only used a longboard and although the waves are small this time of year, I have been knocking around the idea of getting a shortboard. The problem is I don't know what I should be looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions for brands and size of board. I'm about 6'3, 175 lbs, and mostly surf in OC and Assateague.

    -Thanks

There have been several threads on this exact subject, perhaps you can look them up in the forums. Get ready for a hundred different opinions from a hundred different people. If I was you I'd transition to a fun board in the 7 to 7'-6" range. Of coarse, my advice would depend on your skill level, how often you surf, and other factors. There are many different shapers all with great models. Go to your favorite shop and ask what they have. Each shop is going to carry different brands. Some of the shops in OC will even let you try some of their used boards, which isn't a bad idea, to help you make up your mind. Good luck!!
