Hey SD swellinfomaniacs, I'm heading out to San Diego for a quick 5 day work and play trip. I'm considering bringing my board, but just for the hell of it figured I'd throw this post out there seeing if anyone has a decent board I could hook up with while I'm there. Ideally, I'd like a longboard, but can surf most anything. Planning on a few dawn patrols and at least 2 full days at the beach. I am happy to pay in beers, some cash, stories, etc... I'd also totally do the same if you ever wanted to borrow a board on your next surf trip to Boston. Peace and mahalos The Steamer
I'm in a bad frame. On the surface....how nice... Delving into it...wtf...like Gaff is gonna set you up with his sweet boards as loaners. Bring your antibiotics, sparky, you'll need them http://www.theinertia.com/surf/nigh...-southern-california-sewage-treatment-plants/
I have a 5'10 fish or 6'1 shorty Both aren't the greatest shape, but water tight. O wait…. you're from boston - never mind
Sounds like the schit is more north in LA. The water is still suspect probably until thursday. F-it. Im going surfing tomorrow am! 4-5' and fair with an incoming tide. Ill down some pedialyte after just to be safe!
That board looks like something that would squirt out whale jizz!! Ask Doug- he is the SI expert on such matters.
Dude, just buy a used board from a shop or CL, whatever. Sell it back to a shop as consignment or have a friend sell it on CL for you once you leave. Or bring it home if you like it. I've done this again and again. Cheaper than renting and you get a board you want. Boards are cheap in CA.
I forgot, the Clairemont Surf shop on Balboa ave (Just outside of PB) does demos. They have a good variety of boards. You just need to leave a credit card, but i think it's free...
hahah, that's a good idea too! If you can find something that is rare back on the east coast you can bring it back and sell if you don't want to sell to a shop. I've done this too, and broken even or even made a small profit even after airline fees.
