Just got a custom hybrid shortboard, 5-7\", 19 1/2\", 2 5/16\" with a 5-fin option (I weigh about 160) and am now in the search for some fins. I'm interested in the FCS PC-5's for my thruster setup and heard some great things about the FCS GMB-5 quad setup. Anyone have the GMB-5's for sale? I'm actually looking to purchase just the rear fins, if anyone has them and willing to sell. Let me know. Or does anyone know of any shop that sells single fins? Thanks!

just an fyi, if you only want the rear fins, the v-2/kelly quad rears are the same exact thing as the ones you're looking for, just different coloring.
& if you can't find someone selling just the rears, you can pick up a set of the v-2/k2.1 5 fin or quad set & have an extra set of fins to ride...the g-mb fin is on the far upper end of the size range for your weight.

njsurfer, you read my mind actually. That was also running through my head, as far as the gmb's being on the larger size, especially the depth, for myself and I think the small board size as well. Thinking it would have too much drag. My thought was putting those in the rear to get some better hold in larger sized waves. I notice they actually sell quad rears, GX-Q's that might be an option. They are certainly smaller than the gm-b's/v-2's but as you're saying, they may actually be better suited for myself. Thoughts?

yea, you can g-xq's seperately & might not be a bad starting point. i found that they're too small for me, but i'm significantly heavier than you.
i was more referring to the g-mb front fins, not the rears, when i said they'd be a bit big for you. i think the rears are prob. fine & it'd be worth having both the g-xq's & the v-2/kelly/g-mb rears in the the fin quiver while you figure out what works best w/ that board.

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I def think I want the PC-5's for my thruster or front fins if setup for a quad. The rears are the fins I have in question. Maybe I buy the PC-5's to start and then see if I can find a fin demo wheel locally that carries the gx-q's, the v-2's and the g-mb's and see what rides best and feels right for me. Thanks for the help njsurfer.

no worries...you might really like the k2.1 (now called the v-2) set both as a thruster & quad. it's a very popular set up w/ guys in your size range. keep an eye out for it.

Thanks man. I noticed they sell the V-2's as a tri-quad set, as well they sell the gmb's as a tri-quad set. Just wished they offered the rears separately. It's all about the $$$$$.
