I always get a kick out of posts about driving away without their wetsuit, surfboard, etc.
Well, now its my turn. I'm hoping there are some decent people out here

A buddy and I were surfing about a mile into the OSV park at AI on Saturday AM. We decided to move spots, and drove another mile south. When we unloaded, we realized we forgot my surf box. He drove north to where we were and it was already gone (maybe 15 minutes after we left). This was around 830 am.

If we were in town, I could understand someone taking it, but this is AI, and the OSV park at that. It takes some big balls if someone watched us leave it there and then scooped it up and rolled out. There were so few vehicles there, I'm really surprised someone would do this in the 15 minutes it sat there.

It hasn't been turned into the Ranger Station either when we left, which was around 11 AM and I called to check today. We left our infomation with them in case it was turned in later.

Its a clear box with a blue flip open lid. Contents include an assortment of fins, wax, leash, boardshorts, gloves, ding repair, etc. Im still trying to remember everything in it. Nothing of huge monetary value, but definately over the $150 mark all together and of course the sentimental value.

Please reply or PM if you have any info
    Thanks

Do you have PA/DC/VA tags? That can be a bullseye for local folk who don't like out-of-towners.

yep, in town (OC) I could easily believe it.
where we were though is a drive on beach - to get one, you gotta buy the initial parking pass AND the OSV pass, which would make me think that the people are relatively decent.

Nah, DE tags. The closest vehicle to us was at least 200-300 yards away too. I have a mental picture of the guys car to the north of us, and he wasn't there when we returned.

Older guy in a Grayish/Greenish Mitsubishi crossover type vehicle with a orange longboard and red fins. Anyone know someone with that set up? I don't think he paddled out. Not saying he stole it but he might have taken it and was going to figure out a way to get it to us via forum or something.

Maybe he buried it like a time capsule, you should go digging and see what you can find.
