Magma is terrible, it smears and melts off your voard the first session, making your deck slippery. Plamers, sex was, and sticky bumps are all good

I have a few bars of that stuff. I think it is called naturales. it spreads nice and evenly and each bar usually has a little more than any other brand. That stuff is by far my favorite.

Magma is made by Hyperform, Inc. in Florida. The same company that manufactuers X-Trak traction pads. Best pads on earth BTW.

    Sticky bumps..sticky bumps all day!
BTW...can you really say one traction pad is better than the next. I've only used Gorilla and Dakine and i do not notice any difference in traction or chaff-age or adhesion.....they all are pretty much the same unless you're micro analyzing the traction characteristics in a scientific lab! lol

I don't know. I have problems with almost all of my traction pads. Every Dakine one I ever buy lasts about 4-6 months, and my back foot just digs and digs under the pad. Its my toe side that digs it up. So no matter how careful I am with putting it on. I mean I press and hold every inch of the things before I apply them, but they eventually start to pull off. My buddy let me borrow a bigger board that I like using in bigger winter surf. After two weeks, I had basically kicked off half of his traction pad... Like 5 years ago, southcoast gave me a bunch of free OAM pads.. They looked cool and I kept using them because they were hook ups for free, but to be honest, they were actually the best pads ive ever used. So, on my newest board, a 6'1 cquash tail, I have a OAM pad and so far it hasn't been ripped to sh**.

So my vote is OAM traction pads. Something about their adhesive works better for me.

What do you guys think about the best shortboard leashes? The lifetime of an average leash of mine is about 1 year. Sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more. But on the dakine leashes, that people say are the best, I always snap the little metal connector piece that hooks the wire on the leash to the ankle strap so the leash can move a rotate sideways... That little metal piece just snaps off after about 9 months of using a leash daily... Then on the OAM leashes and another off brand leash I bought, I have a nack for just snapping the actual wire part of the leash. I have broken like 3 of them with clean cuts right in the middle of the leash. Just ripped right apart....

Lucky for me, my leashes usually break when I pull into like a chest high barrel or something, but when im out in big sh**, I always look at these leashes like, come on baby, you can do it!!!!

    Leash quality SUCKS!!!

I hate leashes, but i suck at surfing without one, meaning im always body surfing in getting my board every wave. I just hate when im sitting on my board and i see a wave coming and i start to paddle and my leash is tangled up in my feet, or when i stand up and im actually standing on my leash. i just hate leashes. I never wrap my leash around my board anymore in fear it will make it more twisted, but no matter what my leash is always wrapped around my legs in the water, i f***ing hate it. has anyone tried the leashes with the little ball on it to make it not get tangeled? i need to try it out. oh by the way Zach, i probably go through 1-2 leashes a year, and my favorite i guess are fcs or dakine comp.

i have a fcs leash and i like it. the only problem i did was i accidentally grabbed the comp leash and that can only hold a certain size of wave and i wanted the one that can hold as big as like over head since thats what we would get that i would go surfing in. but when i have been surfing in the bigger stuff with the comp leash i have had no problems with it.

The ball that you speak of is the exact piece that I break all the time. It is like a metal ball berring and it rusts and eventually breaks. I mean, its metal that you take under salt water every day... So yes, all my leashes currently have this so they don't tangle. And in the summer when its not crowded I wont wear one at all. But that ball berring breaks if you use the leash a lot....

I guess that is a good point too WBsurfer... I have quite a few comp leashes... Maybe I should get like a 6-7 foot long board leash or something for big winter surf... something that can take a little pull without snapping.... I broke a Dakine leash at La Fonda one morning. Drove down to Ensenada for the erest of the day, had to buy a leash from Sun Miguels. Its one of two shops in the whole city.... So, anyway, I buy this $15 FCS "Comp" leash... No sh**, it was a couple feet over ehad at la fonda the next morning, first wave I pulled into was a close out barrel. Leash snapped right in the middle First wave EVER ridden with the new leash....

Although I did have a feeling that since I bought it in mexico, there was somehow a much lesser quality leash. It said FCS on it and everything, but I just had this sneaking suspicious that some warehouse in TJ pumps out fake FCS leashes filled with leads and bad plastic... who knows....

I mean, whats the point in a comp leash anyway? they seem pointless to me.. I know they are lighter, but not enough to sacrifice the whole reason you wear a leash.

I'm pretty satisfied with the FCS leash "non-comp" leash that I have. Beem using since the summer and haven't had any problems. Although I had an OAM comp leash before that and the velcro was too weak and kept getting ripped off my ankle. So OAM leashes aren't too good.

I have always used either Dakine or Xm leashes. I never broke a Dakine but, I broke 2 XM's but it was in overhead surf

    3 types

I prefer ( in this order ) sticky bumps, bubblegum and mrs palmers. Sex wax sucks soooo bad. Plus stickybumps is non-toxic if ur curious bout eating it. : /

    Leash

I have a tangle-free XM leash. They're pretty sick. It's a covered metal washer that doesn't rust. You can do the quick fix and throw a stainless steel washer on your leash if you don't wanna buy a new one.

I have been using Magma for 2 years now....My boy used to be the rep....this is the deal

X-trak bought the design from another company. They never invented it.

The stuff usually works great if you use the right temp.

Super grippy? hell yeah good for sticking those airs.

I like this wax but there are a few things I don't like...

like the packaging....I have to rip it apart to get it out.

    wears off quickly...

Other then that I don't get what you people are saying....this is the best wax I have ever used.
