Just curious, what are you basing your assertions on?

 

For the same fundamental reason that almost all shopping malls never report crimes such as muggings & abductions of females in their parking garages: bad for bidness, sparky.

 

I was just wondering if there was anything other than speculation, like a first or second hand account or something off the record that he was basing his assertion on. I lived and surfed frequently in that area for a few years a while back, and never really got that vibe then. The general idea I got (both from living there and in working with the mental health and substance abuse populations) was that it was easy to run into a bad situation in the some of the surrounding areas (Pocomoke, Snow Hill, Salisbury, parts of Berlin), but that Ocean City didn't really experience that stuff other than drug/alcohol offenses. I haven't lived there in a few years, so it may be different now, but I was just curious if there was anything to substantiate that claim.
