i showed up not knowing there would be that contest.. but the badge lady told me it was just ending so we bought badges only to find out the contest had a few hours left and had to go through a hassle to get our money back to go somewhere else. oh well, waves looked better for the contest than the last one
http://flickr.com/photos/toddbinger/ All photos from yesterday up, but flickr got messed up, so only like half got added to that set...
nice...looks like a fun contest. I love all the shots have someone on an inside ankle slapper while a clean 3 footer is empty in the background..."duuuude....OUTSIDE!"
Updated it. All are now into the set, just in a backwards order... so if you wanna see the sequential, start at the END of the set. If anyone was in it, and sees themselves PM me if you would like info on the full size. My favorite sequence: It got washed out at the end because the sun came out from behind a cloud and the aperture was too open
Can get a cheap DSLR, but its only gonna have a 18-55mm lens, which is short. The lens I use to shoot is a 70-300mm. You could go with one of the DSLR-look alike models, which are better than a simple camera, but not like a DSLR. You could always get into a film camera. Get a film SLR for like $70 then a decent longer lens for like $350 but you gotta remember the processing and printing for film. It all depends on what you want to shoot and how professional you want it to be. Any camera now a days is gonna be 7+ mp. Some of the DSLR look alikes will have almost 15... but a 6mp DSLR is still that much more capable of quality. Plus they have interchangable lenses for different shooting techniques.
