I've heard this rumor as well. That pier has no chumming signs everywhere and IIRC it's a fine if you do so. Also heard a rumor there was a boat off the end of the pier chumming.

Will be interesting to see if any more info about this comes out and if there's any truth to it. If so the bastiges should be made to tread water dragging a chum bucket.

naaaahhhh.... there are more sharks in the ocean today than ever. to be clear, humans have never had an accurate shark count. sure we can monitor the coastal areas but we have zero idea as to what's going on out in the deep dark ocean. Its probably fair to say that the numbers have always been healthy and today there are even more. the biggest baddest ones are still out in the deep and the smaller ones are getting pushed our shorelines in search for food.
shark conservationists are a major problem. all they are really interested in doing is getting someone else to pay for their boats and toys so they can go out and help "save" the species at the cost of children boogey boarding in waist deep water.

and for the record, its not "their" ocean. It's our ocean.

No, it's not. How could something be "ours" if we don't, as you say, know anything aboot it?

Humans don't live in the sea, last I checked. Why do you think Sharknado was so compelling? Because they left their ocean to hassle us on our terra firma...assisted by tornadoes.

Yes, I agree there. I can't believe that people actually care so much about protecting sharks and seals. Who gives a **** about sharks. Have you ever tried shark fin soup, it's delicious

I'd agree with that also the limits placed on sharks should be loosened and then being pushed closer id also agree ... Years ago I'd say you heard of some sightings maybe chest should depth now is waist thigh and calf depth... Clearly the food chain for them is being diminished out deeper by others or something else and their desperate attempt to find food leads them to places and shallows not normally visited...

Good graph. Points to large increase of humans going into the ocean for water activities. A lot mo' surfers (assholes) paddling about and splashing attractive vibes!

All creatures have a right to exist, that's why.

Everything has a reason and purpose for being, well, except for me. Killing things because we're "scared" of them is nonsense. Don't go in the friggin ocean if one is afeared of sharks.

Who gives a **** aboot people?

People aren't more important than other species, we just like to kid ourselves that we are.

I was camping on the Outer Banks one time and this dude next to us was wading out about chest deep to cast a spoon to the schools of mackeral. The fish he caught, he tied to a stringer around his waist as he stayed out there fishing... NO THANK YOU!

all creatures have the right to exist???? wtf are you talking about? No creatures have any rights whatsoever. The idea of "rights" is a human created thing that we subscribe to in times of natural stability. You think cave men thought their prey had rights? Do you think lions think that the cheetahs have rights when it comes to who gets to eat? The only rights offered in the natural world is if you are better than your competitor than you get to survive.
    Prfff all creatures have rights....

Fitz and Liam you guys are a bunch of pu$$ies along the order of Shart Hunter. Saying we should just wipe out an apex species like sharks is mornonic.

Fitz cavemen did not have the "tools" to wipe out the entire species of their prey. They were using spears and crap. More of them got killed than did the animal so that is a stupid analogy. So you are advocating survival of the fittest, no "creature" has rights, well then I guess it's okay if someone fitter or better armed than you comes and kills you and your whole fmaily huh? If that's the case I hope death comes to you and your loved ones soon.

    Fukin moron!

Wild animals killing for food is completely different than humans wiping-out a species because they fear them.

And yeah, everybody/everything has a right to live that's why murder is wrong. I'm not talking aboot rights given by some political document. I'm talking aboot a different set of rights - unwritten and known to rational people.

So, it's cool if I kill you, if I don't like something aboot you?

I'd like to think that humans have become a bit more sophisticated since the cave men days but lately I don't know.

Every time a predator makes an attampt at a kill, they risk their own lives. Elk could fock up a wolf, birds of prey break wings, etc. It's never guaranteed.
