I'll be heading down in May with my Wife. My friends that work in the Colorado mountains always invite us down after our resort jobs end. Finally we are going. All I can think about is it. My wife is very adventurous. I' m ok surfing n think this is a good starting point for her while having fun In the sun. Any suggestions would b appreciated.;)

Where exactly are you going? That will determine when and if you find waves.

San Juan, east coast, then a long lazy across north coast looking for waves to rincon. Be hanging in rincon for 5 days then San Juan for final 2 days. Thanks again for all the advice. Ya I saw Jobos yesterday some guys were tearing it up.

Check the Southwest Coast around Ponce if there is a decent storm in the Caribbean, you won't be sorry.

Be careful around Jobos, that's definitely the most territorial spot I've come across in PR.

My buds from there have told me that as well. I'm just going to catch some waves . I know there are some less aggressive places as well. Thanks for the heads up.

I'd still check it out if you're interested in it. I think you draw attention to yourself when a couple car loads of gringos show up and take over. Wilderness was great, actually got help with a board repair on the beach from a bl^nt smoking local. Marias was crowded but fun. You should be fine if you don't make a scene.

Well we just got back and are planning our next trip back in October. The waves were not the biggest this time of year so the search was a great adventure. Big smiles on every one. The people were super friendly and helpful. Oh the roadside eateries are awesome and a way to save some coin. Rent a car so ya can get to the better waves and do it early. In late morning the winds pick up and the rain rolls in.
(((((( Oh by the way to the dude who stole the board at WILDERNESS BREAK from a long time local legend surfer may Bad Karma follow ya !!!!!!)))))
