How about we use human race's biological history as a scientific study ( please don't tell me about how we used to be herbivores!). I naturally enjoy animal protein. I also realize that lean meat/pork/venison, some shellfish, fresh fish, poultry (including game birds), and tofu (j.k.), provide many options for nourishment and i am thankful for it. I'm trying to find balance though....eat whole natural foods ( including the aforementioned protein). bTW, whose got their garden going this spring? I have some stuff sprouting!
That doesn't debunk the science that a plant based diet is healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Don't get me wrong JayD. I'm not here preaching. I've only pointed out NorthAssCrack's BS. As far as my personal food choices, well they're personal. If you wanna eat McDeaths and Murder King be my guest.
I'm definitely not advocating burger joints (maybe Carl's Jr. b/c they have bad ass commercials). I also believe that one can train themselves to live off of plants as you have. We live in an environment where plant based foods are plentiful...right now. Enjoy it. You can probably live a fruitful life that way. If you ever go to north shore, there is a vegetarian place near Wrv, they (buncha north shore hippy chicks) serve a massive veggie burrito with all the good ingredients, i ,think you would dig it. I stop in there to get fresh apple nanas!
Archy, check your teeth. Notice please you have canines. They were given to you via evolution to better tear through meat. Same goes for your incisors. Now go buy a steak and do what Mother Nature intended you to do.
"Sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie but that doesn't mean I'm going to eat the filthy mother@ckers"
If you think human canines are impressive, check the canines on our close relative The ape. They pale in comparison to humans and most dogs for that fact yet their diet is 99% plant based. The other 1% is usually insect. Yeah ripping into the flesh of grubs. That's why apes got em. Check the canines on a hippo. They're Fukin huge! Oh but they don't eat meat whatsoever. Show me the evolutionary science where we evolved from dogs and that's why we have canines and maybe I'll listen to your argument. Otherwise canine teeth isn't an argument. In fact show me one carnivore in nature that suffers from clogging of the arteries due to the intake of fatty foods. I'll show you a million Americans a year who die from it. Now go eat some frickin celery you old man and stick to pharmacology and not evolutionary science. Oh yeah. Try biting into an apple without your incisors. Yeah that's what I thought. Even horses have in incisors.
I have much data that shows eating high caloric foods (Brain/marrow) increased brain size and chimps eat meat for sure its so convenient for you to deny some science and embrace others
You are quite wrong on the canine teeth. I am not referring to dogs but to the names of your teeth. As for their use with apes, Jane Van Lawick-Goodall research showed that chimps frequently raid monkey tribes to capture and eat those monkeys captured. They are meat eaters, and they also hunt for their meat in groups. Gorillas will probably do the same. Also, clogging of the arteries in humans is NOT due, as is mistakenly thought, strictly to meat eating. In addition to your fat-ass sedentary life style, a lot of your meatless pre packed foods has been prepared with animal fats and sugars which our bodies convert into lipids, etc. Evolutionary biology has always been one of my interests, and I graduated at the top of my undergraduate college class because of it, majoring in biology. Your reading of dietician journals does NOT make you an expert in anything biological. All animal species have their dentition divided into canines, incisors , molars etc. At one time or another, each species has a common ancestor with meat eating organisms. All of us have an evolutionary ancestral relationship, however distant, to strict meat eaters of one branch or another. Your ancestors are clearly primates that branched into neanderthals, which after a period of whoring for Cro-magnons, disappeared into the abyss of evolutionary dead ends. <grin> Now go get that Whopper.
holy cheet archy is a vegan lmao wow.i eat salad every night.always did.but that's an appetizer lol,i eat chicken, cows, and pigs.couldnt live without it. and the sh1t that's killing everyone is the preservatives in all these foods, including greens.in the 1900s rarely anybody died of heart disease, now its the leading killer. and smoking lol.yea its bad, everything is bad.u can never smoke a day in ur life and still die of cancer.my brothers wifes mother died at 42 from lung cancer, never smoked a day in her life.and from the time of the diagnosis to her death was literally 6 months. but then u also have ppl in the 70s who chain smoke lol and don't cough.everyones different I guess.my foreman at my job, smokes 2 packs in 8 hrs,and that is not an exaggeration.i carpool with the guy,he buys 2 packs every morning from quikchek and gets another pack on his way home.and this guys in his mid 60s,super strong and fit lol and a chain smoker,so go figure
Barry, I don't doubt our ancestors ate meat. I'm not arguing that. But we aren't carnivores. On the other hand you're telling me to eat a steak because of my canines, when modern science proves without a doubt that a human can thrive strictly on plant foods. Our brains have evolved with cannabanoid receptors, so go smoke some weed. Right? Also fat and cholesterol rich foods like meat and dairy have nothing to do with heart disease, but just being lazy. PUHLEASE! Yeah um ok. Like I said find me a carnivore that suffers from heart disease from eating fatty meats, cuz male Lions lay around and sleep all day long while their b*tches do all the work.
What's cool about McD's breakfast is that it changes regionally. I couldn't believe it the first time I went into a McD's in Hawaii and they had a Big Breakfast with eggs, Portuguese sausage and rice! Hell yeah! And in the south, you can get biscuits and gravy! Yum! Unless I'm mixing up McDs with Wendys. Now, McD's chicken nuggets are actually pretty good. The key is to get the hot mustard sauce AND the sweet and sour, and switch between the two every nugget. They also make good dipping sauces for the fries. I especially like the nuggets because they don't **** up your order like they do if you order a burger without cheese, like a quarter pounder. I absolutely hate cheese on my burgers, and I've been burned too many times. So if I'm in the drive thru, I either order a regular hamburger or the nuggets. They're pretty consistent on getting those right. Make sure you check for the sauces for your nuggets before you pull away though!
My buddy found a year old chicken nugget in his car and it looked like new. Those same preservatives are jizzing all over your internal tissues, not allowing them to renew and shed toxins; which leads to gnar gnar ailments like c untcer.
Im not saying your wrong or right. This is my personal view on it. I see humans as animals, so when it comes to what i eat, i like to think about how we'd eat in the wild. Yea we are meant to eat meat. But it shouldn't be a majority of our diet. Meat would be a luxury you get every now and again. Ann's when it comes to what meat, poultry and fish. Why? Because it's what is easiest to catch/trap/kill and harvest. Sure a lone human in the wild can take down a cow, but it would take much more work and burn much more calories than setting up a simple trap and stomping out a bird or other small game or fish. This is part of the reason why i don't eat red meat. Although a small part. Again, not saying I'm right. It's just how i view things.
