your right that stats don't tell the whole story. But its all perspective and opinion. You see it as Connor dominating until round 10, i see it as Floyd's game plan.
Here's what Conor thought post fight.
great post il give conor some credit for lasting 10 rounds, but he had absolutely 0 chance.i didn't get to see the entire fight.i saw that 1 uppercut that did nothing lol. all I know is at the end of the fight conor was 1 hit away from being done, while Mayweather had not a scratch or bump on his body, still standing tall, not even winded. this fight went exactly as I expected
it reminds me of when everyone was hyping Rhonda rousey and she got ko'd in the 1st round and then she disappears from the lime light. Connors a great fighter,he still won since now hes probably 50 million richer, but he is not a boxer.big difference between mma and boxing.thats 1 of the main reasons I stopped watching ufc when it first came out, nobody would throw punches, its all about grappling,. the loudest one in the room is the weakest and that is conor
I like this guy a lot more after watching how he carried himself during and after the fight. Respect Conner.
Yea cep. I thought the fight could go a few diffrent ways. I honestly thought they would both be defensive. That's Floyds game, and i thought Connor would be smarter and be defensive. Literally the first 30 seconds of round 1 i said it. Its over. Came out looking for a knock out. I see his performance as a win for him. But people really underestimated the experience and game plan... the mental game, of boxing. I think thats he's draw back. Too cocky. He came out looking for a fast and spectacular knock out. He said he'd knock Floyd out inside of 4 rounds. Tried to back his words and it back fired. If he was smarter things could of been allot diffrent.
That upper cut did nothing? Went as expected? Conor landed more shots than Manny Pacqiao did! Nobody gave this guy a chance, people said he wouldn't land a punch, he landed 111.
I just found out I'm older than conor lol,he was born in 88?isnt Floyd in his 40s or something? like I said dsup I didn't get to see the whole fight,im not belittling conor,he did his part, just wasn't strong enough.idk imo its like common sense, floyds like 49-0,thats a pretty remarkable record.in surfing that would be like some new grom from obx challenging slater to a tube fest in Fiji. I'm not even a Mayweather fan lol,nor a conor fan,i just went by statistics and what I know, and Mayweather was the favorite for most
The uppercut was a good shot. And it had me worried for a second. But don't make it somthing it wasn't. He ate the punch and regained composure quickly. In terms of the match cep has a point, i didn't do anything. It's a boxing match, getting hit happens. That punch didn't do enough damage to change the course of the fight. Is landing more punches really a good thing? Considering him throwing so many punches is what tired him out which in turn lead to his tko? Stats vs another fight are pointless. Two diffrent fights. Good on him for landing shots. But at the end of the day throwing all those punches were a bad choice.
All you hicks from the sticks wish the Irish won, but he didn't. Hence why all you kooks voted for Trump. You all wanted the white man to win. See ya in hell!
He had him in trouble, don't front. Credit to Floyd for maintaining composure, but let's not forget about that body shot that Conor caught Floyd with in the 9th that had him in hurt too so he was one good punch from finishing before the ref saved Floyd, he gave him time to recover and reset their position. This happened after Conor winning the 8th. It was close going into the 10th. Floyd finished strong but giving that many rounds to a guy who was making his boxing debut should be an embarrassment to him and the sport of boxing.
Should it be though? Floyds 40. Hadn't fought in 2 years, shorter, lighter, took the fight on shorter notice. And again your missing the bigger picture. Floyds plan the whole fight was to finish him when he got tired. On paper yeah he lost rounds, but it was all playing into his plan of tiring Connor out. Your looking at strikes landed and rounds won to justify Connor. He fought good. But strikes landed and rounds won don't tell the truth. When you end a fight, it doesn't matter how many rounds you won or lost. Connor had a terrible strategy. You say it's embarrassing for Floyd. But at the end of the day it was smart and won him the fight. It's ok that he lost. He did well. Really well. But your reaching. Either reaching or you are blind to a fight strategy.
