Marinol is synthetic THC used to treat nausea in chemo patients and AIDS patients. It's also used off label to treat MS neuropathy and spasticity.it is in pill form. Medical MJ is a titrated dose of THC and CBD, the active ingredients in Cannabis. The CBD and THC act synergistically to control symptoms and side effects. Comes in pills, vape, tincture and salve. Hopefully the Feds will stop limiting research on MMJ. Israel has an active research program on MMJ.
that story was enlightening! I have two beautiful, healthy girls and I'm very grateful for that! my honest opinion is that maybe weed can help addicts stay away from their drug of choice! heroin and pills are killing people daily! some will think that one drug will bring them back to the stronger one because its not doing what heroin did! I think that some people just need to escape once in awhile, weed can do that without the phone call that your 20 yo kid just died from a needle! either way, the future of thc is here and its not going anywhere! when these idiots here in MASS figure out the laws and regs well be able to buy it next to the doritos! clearly joking, but it is the future! no one has stopped the increase in overdoses here and its just getting worse! give a needle head some weed and who knows!
Has allot to do with the strain. Sativa or Indica. Level of CBD vs THC. You can get a body high where you just feel like melting into a couch or a head high. Can get super paranoid or super calm. It all depends.
Well put Bassmon. What Barry doesn't realize is that I was born with depression / anxiety, it's hereditary. When both parents have some form of one or the other it's a good bet their children will have some of the same issues. Much like diabetes, or heart disease. Some things we are just hard wired for. I "manned up" for years by not addressing it and I had a lot of ups and downs, hard to stay even keeled when untreated. One day I had enough and saw a Dr. who threw me some pills from good ole pharma and sent me on my way. Problems got worse not better. They told me it takes a while to "adjust". I gave it time, still hated life. They changed me over to something else. It worked slightly better at first but after the adjustment period, it got worse again. They said keep taking it but here, take a xanax when it "flares" up. So I did. It did nothing. I took more and it still did nothing. I saw this was heading down a dangerous road and decided I was going to stop. So I did. Weened myself off. Then I did some research and decided I was gonna self medicate with herb. A regimented dosage. Small amounts periodically throughout the day. It takes me 2-3 sittings to finish one spliff. I'm not doing big bong hits all day lol I have but that's not what I do these days. I maintain a certain level of THC at all times to avoid the highs and lows. So I coast along in cruise mode, like I'm trimming on a surf boart.
And for the record, I have never "done drugs" before other than what the Dr. prescribed and of course alcohol, which I have cut way back on despite going big a few times a year. I'm content with 2 tall ones a couple times a week and that's it.
Marinol is used to treat nausea in chemo patients and increase appetite in both chemo and AIDS patients (although, afaik, relatively few people in developed countries get AIDS these days, as they can live full lives with HIV if using the newest drugs...what I'm guessing Charlie Sheen is using). According to a documentary I recently watched, CBD is extremely important to, not only the feeling you get, but also the medicinal properties. Scientists gave a woman pure THC and she said it made her feel extremely anxious and paranoid. When they later gave her THC balanced with CBD, she said it made her feel wonderful. In the old days, you smoked whatever you could get...and most of it was mexican or homegrown weed (from sh!tty mexican seeds) that had little to no CBD and was also frequently toxified with fertilizers, pesticides and/or mold. Paranoia and anxiety was common...but that awful feeling usually only lasted about 30 minutes and then you felt good, so we kept on smoking it.
You are both correct. Herb affects people differently, much like people have different reactions to certain types of foods. So it's a combo of your hard wiring / DNA and also the strand.
Please prove with evidence based medical studies........or...<grin>....STFU!!!!!! Which is my sole point. Wanna smoke ? be my guest....oh, and please send me some......
You want evidence based medical studies proving what? That it effects people differently? Come on Barry. You must of quoted the wrong post. Because your more intelligent than that
wasn't you but several others went a little bananas. I like to paint broad strokes versus calling out individuals. after all - why only offend a few - mine as well lump everyone into one big basket.
What a beat subject. There was a report in the 30's funded by Carnagie, Nixon put a report in the 70's, to say it hasn't been studied is junk. And the conclusion? Not what Carnagie or Nixon wanted. The info is out, and has been out. I you don't like it don't partake. If your worried about your kids, be a better parent. I have stated here before my family is involved with med marijuana, and have many first hand accounts of it's medical benefits. The thing is, if you don't believe it, you don't believe it. Good for you. If anyone in your familys is going through chemo, by all means do not give them pot. Epileptic seizures, Parkinsons, I'm sure Pfizer and Lily have a nice scrip just for you. If your family member is in chronic pain, hook em up with some fentanyl. No overdoses ever from pot(over 3000 a year from aspirin). No physical dependencies( you can get hooked, you just won't shake and sweat when you don't have any). And on, and on. I'm sure big pharma loves pot. Lastly and my biggest gripe is incarceration for possession. If you hook up minors or are intoxicated driving, sure. You come to my home after the day is done and tell me I'm commiting a crime for smoking pot??? Well fock you! I'm a bad dad?? Double fock you! I do think your right Chavez, newbie is a narc. You don't come to a surf site for med pot advice. Especially from Barry and Smitty.
Also New England Journal of Medicine, American Medical Association, ect, ect, all have an opinion. Do your own research, by all means do not get it from here, unless it concerns proper leash tying techniques
Lastly, there have been many comparisons with pot and alcohol, and there should be none. Aside from being intoxicants, nothing in common. I think there are over 40, 000 deaths a year attributed to alcohol. Also shootings, domestic disturbances, bar fights, ect... I saw a ton of drunk angry episodes over the 4th weekend, not any visiting the coffeeshops in Amsterdam. (still haven't been to Colorado and New England politicians haven't thought up a way to line their own pockets yet, so it's on hold). Ok, now I'm done. Time to hit the beach
