I might as well come clean to. Frost has led the way. I've never been to Rhode Island and I know all my spots from wannasurf and the internet. I've only actually been boogie boarding once in long island 10 years ago. I'm from the midwest

 

wow a 16page thread in like 4 hrs.i havnt got to read but the first 2 pages,il show my advice for u mr . frost.

first things first,learn how to not panic before u learn how to swim lol.u can stay alive and not touch,but if u panic ur a goner,seriously.tread water,it keeps u above the surface..if u cant swim.

when im in the water in the lineup or paddling out,i never focus on the beach,never focus on how far offshore u are because that can scare u.its like climbing mountains,they say never look down,well never look back,just focus on whats infront of u.go with da rythem of the sea.

next,don't be afraid of taking sets on the head,unless u plan to go to mavericks or jaws.youll be surprised how fast u pop up,or how easy a wave rolls right over u (if ur in the right position).for instance u can take a 6 footer on the head and pop up in under 2 seconds,unless ur caught infront of it,then u have about 4 seconds.im sure u can hold ur breath for atleast 20 seconds.

never rely on ur equipment,never!!!!say u lose ur board and ur in the impact zone taking waves on the head.u are in the recycling bin,u cant go out ,u cant go in.so u swim sideways for 30 seconds or so,and when a wave comes in,dip ur head below the water and paddle hard amd u will bodysurf it to a spot u can touch.also sometimes u can be In deep water in a rip and that rip will land u right on a sandbar and u can stand up.

I don't really got any tips for riding the waves lol,it seems ur not quite there yet.i wouldn't steer u in the wrong direction,I try to help when help is needed,so listen to the positive comments,im sure theres atleast 50 retarded posts in this thread,i havnt read it nor plan to.i don't want to hear about a fello swello that died in the water.when in doubt,dont go out...........instead sit on the beach,drink a beer,and study the others in the water
