yep. in NJ, you absolutely need a 5/4/3 if you want to make it all year. i tried a few yrs ago w/ a 4/3 and a hooded vest w/ boots and gloves, and it was definitely difficult. sessions would be 30 min max, and i'd have some serious shivers for like the rest of the day. after that year i bought a legit winter suit. a 4/3 is great to have in nov/dec and in the spring. i think i use the 4/3 equally as much as the 5/4/3. it's nice to have a variety of suits
Wow, I can't thank you guys enough for posting all of the specs on the types of suits, gloves, hoods and boots I will need. Next time I am down, I will look around for sure. I am 5'10'' and weight about 160 lbs if that can help determine exactly what type of suit I'll need. Im not skinny at all I would assume but I don't have a gut lol
i'm 5'9 a little over 150 and pretty lean.. a medium excel fits me perfectly.. you should try a M or an L
thanks for the personal opinion motion, when I get down ima hit up some stores and hopefully get out in the water the same day
