Hey guys as much as I've had a great time enjoying the first bumps on this side of the coast in months I just haven't had much luck. Here in monmouth county it has either been to deep, the wind wasn't right etc. With the wind this afternoon I know a longer jetty should clean it up a little. Does anyone know of any good monmouth county breaks that have been grooming this swell, I think 3-4 ft this afternoon could be allot of fun at the right spot
Been surfing (sb) the same spot in Monmouth County for the last several days with occ overhead sets and have had no complaints whatsoever. You're getting closer
common man...think of a place where boats go in and out. Actually if you know what spot im talking about please do not go there its crowded and there is literally one take of spot as it is. As good as the place is holding the swell there are lots of closeouts still. pick wisely
You aren't kidding... By 7AM there was 20 heads on one peak with more paddling out literally every minute, got out, drove a bit, and found a really good spot with 3 guys out, that break isn't even worth going anymore, unless you get a swell that will have multiple peaks, it's like a circus.
I rarely hunt around for waves because I've developed a strong favorite and don't have the time to hunt on weekdays. It's Saturday now though and I think I'll check every place from Asbury to Sandy Hook. This isn't what your looking for (actually these might be the worst surf spots on the east coast) but I've seen longboarders and SUP's catching small waves on a beach INSIDE the 'squan inlet on a big swell and I'm curious what happens in Highlands on a big swell. Might be nothing rideable at all without a hint of a sandbar. Might be a freak 2-3 foot perfectly shaped wave in the Sandy Hook Bay. Either way I won't tell
