    Thanks for the advice.

The final decision will be pending surf conditions, but I'm going to try to hit Long Island if it's breaking. I'll ask specific advice on a break or two as the date gets closer.

if you're planning to surf, plan to do other fun stuff. you're taking a trip on the East Coast. it's un-rideable 70% of the time.

    I dunno bro...

Alls I can say by the locations you've picked you're kinda painting yourself into a corner...

Montauk...next closest different direction place? England
    Cape Cod? See above
Maine? A little more to offer, but generally ese, SE, e next closest? Nova Scotia

Go where you want to visit...bring a bort in case there's swell

If you have access to a boat go to Maine.

The Montauk locals, even in December, will not be throwing shakas your way.

I don't know jack about any of those areas. But I would be doing my homework on Nova Scotia.

    Got a passport?

Yeah, forgots aboot that. Cept for the fact that most people that don't live on either border have little use for the pass card.

lol, I know exactly what you mean. I think I only got the passport because I sent my kid on a Eurotrip a few years back so I decided to do the whole family. And I've lived on one border or the other my entire life.
