I gave in and got a go pro but anyway there is no where on the front of my board that is flat. surfboard mount does not adhere to the board and neither does the curved mounts. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I get some resin and mount it on there? Can i even use the smaller mounts that come in the bag that are not the round ones? I really don't want to lose it on the first wave, after all how will i become a pro right
Isn't there a headband mount? Strap it to your noggin so that your videos give the perspective of what you see. BTW, be sure to use a safety tether so you don't lose the camera if you get worked bad.
Get an fcs center fin plug and install it up towards the nose of the board. Also get one of those orange floaties to attach it to.
In my personal opinion, i think the board mounts are kinds dumb. It just shows you making faces the whole time. I think the mouth piece thing is way cooler. Then you can do stuff like this:
Talked with a guy in the water a few months ago who had the mouthpiece holder....said he could barely breathe and to be honest it looked a bit difficult to manage. Couldn't imagine get many "quality" shots with that thing. Further, I have had a hero 1 for years and still on the fence about the utility of it... As for the mount...I had the same issue on one of my boards OC...an FCs plug and a leash plug and you're good to go (nt., pic below--biscuit/egg board in middle). PM me...I'll drop it in for you if you have the plug and leash cup and willing to drive my way.
