Clark Griswold walked into a sporting goods store to buy a brown lunch bag in 1983. He was stoked when he found a free pistol in the bag.

More BS from our resident regurgitating toilet

England (UK) has very few legal guns, but MORE violent crime than the US

I would cite the source, but PBJ doesnt fly that way, he likes to make stuff up to support his (non) arguments

Point is if people want to be violent, they will use whatever is on hand.

keep spewing out that leftist garbage PBJ, maybe you could be a pundit on CNN or something You are really good at talking a lot without saying anything, you'd fit right in

    Thanks EMass!

i stuffed 'em into bags, maybe one day i'll get 'em to a surfshop...the only groms around my area are peddling crack cocaine and might use it for wrapping their precious product to deliver to consumers....

...and that would just give surfing a bad name...

Judging by the same graph Goofyfooter posted, one could assume that a higher incidence of gun stores per capita leads directly to a lower incidence of murders.

However, using identical methodology, one could examine New York City, which had 414 murders per 8,340,000 residents, which is approximately 5 murders per 100,000; a murder rate almost HALF of Houston's, in a city with very few gun shops and highly restrictive gun laws.

One should additionally consider the origin of Chicago's weapons; Of 50,000 guns recovered in Chicago between 2001 and 2012, nearly half were from out of state, with the other half coming from just outside city limits. A large amount of them come from a swath of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Here's a beautiful infographic, for those of you who prefer pretty pictures to numbers and words:
Where 50,000 Guns in Chicago Came From

In fact, Mississippi supplied more of these weapons than any other state (aside from Illinois of course). Mississippi, where "No state permit is required for the purchase of any rifle, shotgun or handgun." You're probably imagining that Mississippi itself has, at least, a very low murder rate, and that these guns were stolen by gangs for Chicago murder. Yet the 2010 statewide incidence of murder in Ole Miss was 7 per 100,000. Even with all those gun stores and law abiding citizens, there was a higher murder rate in Mississippi than in NYC that year.

Furthermore, the methodology of your 'Professor' Lott was similarly simplistic to your poorly drawn conclusions, which I was able to debunk in a few minutes of work with a complex intellectual tool that most people call 'Google'. Your genius 'liberal dem professor' (of an exceptionally conservative university) claims that "High crime urban areas and neighborhoods with large minority populations have the greatest reductions in violent crime when citizens are legally allowed to carry concealed handguns."; the cases of New York City and Boston are clearly defiant examples of this intellectually pathetic manipulation of data.

If you are going to try to march through the land of the Trolls, you are but a boy amongst men. I am having trouble taking you seriously, but if you are trying to be serious, please do try to keep up. Otherwise, we can revisit topics that everyone can handle, like Gnomes, Maine Wood-Chucks, and Hindu Tits.

You really should think long and hard if it's really worth it. How much does surfing mean to you? For me I couldn't do it, i'd die without an ocean within a reasonable driving distance. I don't know if you're over being that committed to surfing or if it's just not a priority, but I don't think money could lure me to a place that would require flying somewhere to surf regularly. Just my .02, I know you didn't ask for it, but thought i'd throw it out there.

Koki man, congrats, closer to the water is all I need in my life and I think i'll be 100% satisfied w/mine when i'm within minutes of the water. You sir are lucky, be appreciative if you aren't already.

Thanks, DawnPatrol...believe me I'm appreciative, sh*t I've worked so hard over the last couple months to make this happen, been turned down by so many potential employers it's got damn ridiculous, but I'm about 95% sure that I have the job I just interviewed for, working my tail off to finish all the little details so i can put my house on the market. They told me i would be starting next week or at least in a roundabout way, which accounts for the 5% of unsurity...but i know it is meant to be...the stars are aligning for me....have a great girlfriend that lives down there and all the resources to make the move and transition smoothly...I'm excited, but i realize my first priority is going to be work and surfing will be secondary, but just the fact that I'll be close enough to have a shot at getting in the water daily (once we change the clocks) is all the motivation i need...i know i will be a much happier person...currently being an hour and a half away blows any midweek swells for me, so looking forward to get in a lot of afternoon/evening sessions in the future. Best of luck to you, DPSUP, you'll get there...

Good to hear brother, sounds like you have a great situation that's coming together for you. I know i'll be there soon too, just saving enough money to pick up and leave without fear of not finding a job right away. Just a matter of time and the courage to pull the trigger and change our entire life.

I know the feeling DP, I just moved back to Rhode Island with no money saved, it has been a scary road this past year. 50% pay cut, lived away from the ocean, had to hit the pause button and really reconsider what I was doing.

Just a heads up, regardless of when you pull the trigger, it is going to be hard, its going to be emotional, there is never a right time for anything. follow your heart dude, stay happy, stay healthy

Yeah I bet, I know there is no perfect time, and if we wait for that time we'll never move, so I definitely want to rip the band aid off sooner rather than later, longer we wait... harder it will get. I was recently promoted to management so i'm getting some experience to add to my resume and that should open up more opportunities. I'm not feeling the company i'm with though, no matter how hard I try to be sold out for them I don't really like being there. I don't see myself lasting much more than a year or so and then I gotta make a change. I appreciate your encouragement though, it keeps me focused on the goal.

MIS-13 shut up, you keep throwing insults at me cause you can't argue anything or you have other's argue for you.

More hypocrisy from the sissy who is all talk and no action. He keeps calling people violent but supports guns.

Hey MORON, THE UK tallies simple assaults in their violent crime statistics you douche bag. The U.S. doesn't. That drives up there violent crime rates.

There's no Detroit's in the F'ing UK, idiot. Their violent crimes are nothing but some slap fights and a few stabbings. Only a moron would use fudged stats to insinuate that Birmingham is more dangerous than Chicago.

Plus, this isn't aboot a fist fight, you friggin retard.....it's aboot guns. Guns you invalid. Guns........SO are there more shootings in The UK? No, there isn't so. What is your point.

Leftist? What the F does guns have to do with an affiliation with a political party. And why do you keep acting like a rebel when you are nothing but a conservative?

Dude, stop talking and stand-up for your convictions. Sissy, punk. "Ohhh I'm scared of jail so I pay my taxes even though I spend my life b!tching aboot them."

There was anarchy back in the day. Tribes and clans existed. There was no government. No taxes. Do you know what happened?

An Alpha male took over and had is way with everyone and anything. Then when he saw another clan had better land or resources, he and his clan attacked the other clan.

You're fricking voluntarism, utopia dream land is such BS....the dreams of a moron. A dream that will never be accomplished not just because you are all talk, but because human beings are human beings.

Oh, CNN isn't aligned to one side, tard. You should have said MSNBC. What now I have to insult myself for you?

I talk without saying anything? Dude, you had NO point here. None.

"If people want to be violent, they will use whatever is on hand."

What the F does that have to do with gun laws, moron? It's much easier to be deadly violent with a gun.

Again for the 50th friggin time, What have I made up?

These stupid stats comparing Chicago and Houston's crime rates and blaming Chicago's violence on the lack of gun stores is friggin ludicrous. I thought you were so smart? You don't see how ridiculous that is?

Dude, come at me when you come back to Jersey. Stop yapping on the computer.

PJB thank you for demonstrating my points with your posts, when someone is in self destruct mode its best to sit back and let them do it.

you didnt get your coffee this morning yet, did you?

I am glad you think there is a mythical benevolent entity who will take care of all of us....I guess mommy and daddy and 'the system' will take care of you womb to tomb......there there pjb, the man will fix you.......now who is living the fantasy?

Who knew that asking about what to do with old surfing magazines could turn into such bickering.

Quit complaining, accept reality...move on...or move to another country.

Koki, I was gonna say you could pack with them. You know like glasses and such.

PBJ, I thought we had been through this, so I guess I'll have to ask you again. Why you wanna hate on Texas bra?

Pump, Dallas is about 5 hours from Galveston or Corpus, so you could definitely make some weekend excursions. Its a great place to live, guns and all!
