https://www.space.com/spacex-nasa-ready-for-crew-dragon-test-launch.html Big night for SpaceX! Should be a nice clear night to see it go up for those down here in FL. DP I bet you'll have a killer view up there! (2:48 am EST).
Thanks for the heads up, I'll actually be in Orlando this evening though, taking my wife to BB King's Blues Club at Pointe Orlando.
Tesla’s 5.3-million-square-foot plant in Fremont, California, has among the most workers of any U.S. auto plant—more than 15,000 full-time and contract employees labored alongside dozens of acrobatic red Kuka robots last year, assembling about 254,000 sleek electric Teslas. Ahead of the launch of the Model 3 sedan, CEO Elon Musk envisioned creating the world’s most automated assembly process, describing an “alien dreadnought” that would run rings around more conventional Toyota or Ford plants. It hasn’t worked out that way. Instead of being a wonder of 21st-century automation, the assembly lines that produce Tesla’s Model 3s and $79,000-and-up Model S sedans and X SUVs rely as heavily on human workers as ever. Now, as it hopes its newly announced $35,000 version of the Model 3 will boost demand, the factory is grappling with a more dubious claim to fame: It has been the target of more investigations into workplace safety and has incurred more fines than its rivals' main U.S. auto plants in the past half decade.
Back to rooting against American companies I see. Hard for someone that is doing something never done before to have it all figured out ahead of time He's not a messiah with all the answers, just a smart dude trying to do some really innovative things.
Still sending a lot of mixed signals. Maybe he had to close a few stores to come up with the capital for the rocket launch? https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tesla-shares-down-5-percent-141939503.html
Watched it live (on TV). They way they provide all the info is pretty cool. The separation from stage 1 to 2 was cool as crap
It's weird to think that we have been totally reliant on Russia since 2011 to get astronauts into space and at the cost of 80 mil a seat. That's gonna end.
Russia’s passive-aggressive reaction to SpaceX may mask a deeper truth https://arstechnica.com/science/201...ian-critic-says-roscosmos-acting-left-behind/ America winning!
Weird, yes kinda. More like embarrassing to me though. But they managed to get many of our astronauts up and down safely so I give them credit where credit is due. Scott Kelly's book "Endurance" gives a very interesting and candid look at the difference between USA and Russia space programs.
Wait, I thought our forummme position is that we are down on Elon. At least until he kisses Trump's golden jewels, then at which time, our forummmme position will be in the 'Supportive' column. No?
