My Apologies

I wanted to say that i'm sorry to anybody that I offended at the end the 9/11 thread. After re-reading the last several comments, I can see how Yankee or others might have thought I was joining in on OldSoul's "hi-jacking" joke. This was not at all what I meant.

OldSoul's use of the word "hi-jack" and my use of the word were different, but I now realize that simply using that word at all in THAT thread was an error. This term gets used in almost any thread that gets derailed or hi-jacked. Some use the word derail, some say hi-jack. I meant it in that sense, and not as a play on words like Oldsoul was.

Furthermore, I misunderstood you Yankee when you asked me if I was being facetious. I thought you were referring to me allowing Oldsoul to "hi-jack" the thread, and didn't realize you were referring to my use of the word hi-jack after he just made a joke using that word.

I didn't really want him to hi-jack the thread but I gave up on trying to prevent it after several requests to keep the thread on topic, so I threw my hands up and said "whatever" essentially, and that's what I thought you meant by me being facetious. I thought it was about the thread and not the joke. My bad for misunderstanding you, just as you misunderstood me, but when all you have is words on a screen, with no tone or anything else to go by then things can easily get lost in translation.

I hope this clears up any confusion, but if not, I totally understand and I deserve any flogging I get from the group. Have at me if that's what will make you feel better about the situation. I deserve it.

 

Thank you for this. I mean it from the bottom of my heart. You're my dude and I would never ever do that. Anybody who knows me, really knows me, knows I do not joke about such things. If anything, I get overly upset and heated just expressing myself when I talk about it because that sh*t makes me furious (what they did to our country and our fellow Americans)

I appreciate you accepting my apology and I accept yours as well. I hope to regain your confidence in my character, although I realize it's probably something that will be on watch for a while.

 

You're absolutely right. It's a touchy subject and word usage is important, I failed at that.

 

Back at ya dude. I'm sure we'll share a peak one day. It would be an honor. And agreed on how we take care of the forume, no mods necessary.

 

Thanks LB, I just wanted to do something good for what is by far the worst day in our history as a country, but I ended up screwing it up in the end. Live and learn I guess.
