I might be visiting some friends on Nantucket this July or August. Anybody know about the surf there, conditions, etc. - I know summer is prob.not the best, and that storm surf will produce swell there, but is there just occasional surf on the island when there's no storm? Is it worth taking a few boards?

Absolutely. All the rules apply to the island. Have respect for locals, don't snake waves, clean up after yourself and have fun.

If your there in late August definitly bring a board. If there is any hurricane activity there can be decent sized waves at certain breaks. Even in Jukly you may be able to find some waves although July is typically the worst time oft the year for waves in New England. Nantucket does pick up swells more than the mainland though considering its location
