Del and Maryland bad vibes dude why would you leave jersey? from everything i hear on these threads del and maryland suck the big one. i dont think i have ever heard someone say a positive thing about it. its always the waves suck, to crowded, i dont like you your board, your a kook and BS like that. just seems like really bad vibes
Obviously you aren't a local so you didn't get respect. It was only a small point break for you since you're dumb enough to go on a small day. And whoever is closest to the break has the right to knock everyone else off. There are never more than 15 people unless it's an epic day and the locals know the jetty is where it's at. Good thing you won't be back. Stay in "jerz" cuz another tourist like you is not wanted here
herring point is my home break and i agree if you don't like it, by all means stay away. from june to september there is never as few as 15 people. maybe 15 people that can actually catch waves, but there is far far more kooks with boards than surfers
You both sound like idiots, a naval jetties heavy huh??? I live 10 minutes from the break and can count the number of times I have surfed there over the last year on one hands. Between the insane number of clueless kooks (tourist and so called locals), extreme mushiness of the break on all except maybe 5 days of the year, insanely small swell window, and fickle sand conditions (agree this has been fixed so far with the new jetties) there might be 1 or 2 days a year when naval jetties is worth surfing over any other break from here to OC. And that 1 or 2 may be pushing it. Let the stink bug dance stance crew have it. The only days you're gonna find me there are when the south is pushing so hard, I'm going to be competing with 3 other people in enough shape to fight the current with me....and 2 of them will be visiting from OC.
the jetty sucks with out question, and I suggest everyone stay away especially when a nor eastern or tropical system hits, cause it sucks, one of the only true point breaks in all of dela-WERE is the worst of choices when a swell is around.
everyone talking garbage, please keep on talking and while you are at it, stay in oc/jers or better yet just forget the navel jetty exists it would be nice to have a few less agro windbags polluting the beach
let whom ever they are have it, it will keep some more dead floaters from wanting to drive south and infect some of the decent spots on Delmarva. however, you know that when those big south sweeps make it worth the drive, when all else in shut down due to current issues and we have to wait in out for things to settle down, those oc rippers show up and just take over their spot. after a couple of hours, we leave them trying to surf the left overs, which most can not handle even after the tide turn and swell drop. and for who ever thinks that Delmarva has any true point breaks, you don't have a clue about what a point break is.
Last Friday?.....I heard from 2 guys I know that Henlopen naval jetty wasn't working at all (this was at about 6am they checked it out). I met up with them and surfed a small but clean hollow swell at Fenwick around 8am with a few chest high sets. I couldn't continue on with them but those 2 guys headed down to Assateague...surfed from around 9:30 til 1pm last Friday and said it was the best conditions they've surfed in Delmarva area in nearly 2 years (they surf year round about once a week primarily at the naval jetty). Assateague has alot of room to spread out with several sand bar breaks working it seems....go there if you don't mind the 10 mile country drive each way from Rt 50. I went there on Saturday and no one was surfing (albeit the surf conditions were really rough...winds, water currents, short intervals made it quite a battle if you had the endurance)
All I hear is a bunch of babies whining about how cool there surf spot is. News flash jersey sucks, delaware sucks, maryland sucks, the whole dam east coast sucks. You say you all surf heavy waves, but you suck. You sit with you hand up your butt for weeks at a time waiting for what true surfers call a ripple. I have seen bigger waves in a toilet bowl than on the east coast. So why dont you all stop this *****ing about how ****ty your spots are and go somewhere that has waves. The east coast is so flat that you guys spend all you time blogging about how great of surfers you are. Anyone who posts on this forum sucks at surfing including me! I ride straight in on my knees, fall down the face say i got "barreled" and then hit hollister to grab my newest shred gear.
Who said they are good at surfing? I suck pretty bad at surfing but I've been doing it for years and it's fun. I wish I could leave the East Coast, but my jobby job and family are here. I've traveled and surfed waves in the Pacific and still think that a good day on the East Coast is still a good day in general. Also, the best surfer in the world is from the East Coast. Lick my balls hater.
Thank you for staying composed until that last line. It made it all the better. Man that last sentence even better.
Actually I believe it was a figure of speech meaning he would like you to perform a degrading action, thereby damaging your psyche irreparably. Causing a manic episode where you drown your self. (I could be wrong but I think this is close.)
Shucks i guess i am just not cool enough to talk to shredmasters that post on the internet. I am going to grab my custom made fish and hit up dawn patrol at naval jetty because is supposed to be ankle high. Sry i am not a swellinfo for life member. See all you brahlias out in the water!! Mahalo
