hey does anyone know if the naval jetties will be surfable this weekend ? the last few times i've been out there, its been nothing but ankle busters and pretty flat. so I haven't been able to surf a whole lot.
hi eastcoastsurfchix, Welcome to the community. Just a little forewarning about asking about specific spots and if they are going to be good... you will often find that not too many people willingly want to invite the forum members to their favorite spots. However, what I can tell you is it looks like we are looking at big, but very choppy surf for much of the upcoming work week in delaware. As we head towards the weekend, there looks to be some potential for a clean-up. A lot is dependent upon the track of the storm system - Invest 93 - currently hanging around Puerto Rico. Models are indicating tropical development of this system, which holds some great potential for surf as we head toward the weekend. Keep an eye on the forecast updates - twice per day - currently updating around 6:00am/pm.
naval jetties you say..... ok cool me and my entire crew of surfer, boogie boarders, sea kiyackers, surf fisherman, snorkelers and spear fisherman will be out. thanks for the heads up ks
Never heard of these naval jetties you speak, but I'm with you Slater. If you want to meet up about 9 or 10 of us are gonna head down this weekend, we don't surf but we just kinda splash around the lineup in these giant inflatable rafts. Guys up here are so uptight about it but I'm sure they won't mind down there. P.S. It's KAYAKER, you monkey.
kneed a friend What do you say we get the whole gang together at the DQ in Lewes for blizzards b4 we go shred! I'm sleeping in my webbed gloves friday night, so I'll be ready when I wake up at 11:30. Just kneed some directions to these naval jetties. Go Team!
EZ brahh.... Nobody said anything about a dawn patrol. Heard there was a killer Fridays around there so were all gonna load up on some Pizza Shooters, Shrimp Poppers, Extreme Fajitas and then hit the DQ before we paddle out. So glad I found out about these naval jetties.
My shortjohn is covered with pieces of flair, they glisten in the sun as I bury my knee into yet another meaty turn. I lean down till my safari cap's brim incises the lip for style points. Which reminds me, any professional photographers going to pay to shoot this epic sesh this weekend? KB4L
dewey beach and the rehoboth hotel have a sweet break you should try those spots out, or indian river inlet, anyone of those at the right tide will be epic. Try those places first, naval jetty gets left over swells and sucks.
Naval Jelly It's supposedly good on a big swell.... and is about the nicest beach in the Smellaware Valley, but then again, ive never been to Slaughter Beach.... If you are looking for a solid Rehoboth wave, slap a fat thigh and ride brother ride.
thanks everyone I was out there on the 14th, and there was nothing. me and my friend pretty much sat on our boards the whole time, there were no decent waves we could get up on. but hopefully we'll be out sunday
