Anyone on this fine forum from New Hampshire or know the breaks up there?

Does it get good up there? How consistent?

I know its cold.....hell I remember being on vacation as a kid in the summer and the water temp had to be in the
    forties!!!!

I was pretty young when I visited up there and dont remember a lot of the beach scene. Maybe going up there
for a short trip and wondering if I should bother to bring the board?

Wave hog if you go to the nh coast you should head to rye on the rocks. Unreal spot. Plus nh coast is basically southern Maine. If you want southernmaine send me a pm.

Chuck, maybe he should try YORK BEACH and LONG SANDS. How's that now??

Mention a few more breaks outright. Please.

Wavehog just go to THE WALL. It's where anyone who's no one goes. All in all, NH can be great.

Hey if your coming to the area id suggest next week. image.jpg

I honestly feel like spots don't get crowded here so f it I tell people when and where around these parts. I'm a nice guy and not territorial, I find that Maine surfers aren't too chippy at all but I've heard stories of territorial NH guys tho. Maybe it's because they have a 16 mile coastline and need to defend that.

Spicoli dude really. It's winter and the ocean is big enough for the people who actually want to get in the water this time of year for the fun stuff.

Go f a latex dummy. Why would you recommend that spot? Theres already enough people there.. and how do you even know its going to breaking that day and tide he is there.. bad advice and a well.. we know what you are for suggesting that spot.

Wavehog.. its 14miles of coastline. Cruise up and down it until you find a wave you like with thin crowds. Yes there are a lot of points and most of them are surfable.. dont just got to the one with the cool name because everyone else surfs there.

It's every man for himself Brosephine. That said, all it takes is one kook or idiot to run your best ride.

new hampshires coastline is like 20 miles, one could find every surfable point, sandbard, etc in less than a few hours, not to mention that supersecret coastal route that runs within viewing distance of everything. It's really too bad waves aren't invisible.

Dude the real kooks and idiots are far from the ocean in the winter. Anyone who has the gear and the determination to surf when it's windy and 20 degrees out is not a kook. Unless they are really overstoked which can be dangerous. In reality New England winters keep the kooks out.

Wow, threats? Nice man.. take your aggression out elsewhere.. you know where..

I knew a kook like you once. I listened to every word he said. He drove me to all the spots.. told me when to surf them, pretty much gave me a whole map of the place. Sad thing is I never saw him at any of those spots. In fact he seems to only surf a handful of times a year (not saying you surf that little). You`d never know he didn`t surf that much because of his lingo, shirts, and all the talk talk talk about surfing. But I`ve come to find that there are people who just want to learn so they can boost their ego.. their knowledge is for look-at-me moments not for practical use.

And don`t threaten me.. I`m pretty sure I`ll know more people/have more respect in the lineup, so it will be you walking with your hamsandwich back to Maine. No one up there appreciates your violent bull**** anger issues.

Non sequitur.. does not compute. If Chuck Taylor surfs in the Winter than indeed kooks do surf in the winter.

Carlos, I'm having a great Black Friday actually. Fun times with the friends and I'm headed out to skate soon. So over-stoked it's not even funny. Let the vines roll braw.

1991: Warner Bros. permanently changes the game for all the bros when Point Break is released and nets $83.5mil at the box office. Dead presidents masks, boardshort tan lines, and magenta longboards are "in".

That's pretty friggin' insightful. Staying out of your guys' beef, but in regards to those types of people in general, insightful.

Since we are on the topic of kooks lets have a discussion of what a kook really is. Here are some points as to what I think a kook is:

-surfs out of ones comfort zone and causes harm to self and others because of lack of board control.
-hogs waves and isn't considerate of others.
    - never catches waves
-talks the lingo but doesn't surf or try to get better consistently.
-goes right to a short board as a beginner
-attempts large short period beach break and rolls around in the white zone.
-goes to surf when it's 30 kts on shore

These are some things I could muster up off the top of my head. I literally do not fit the description of any of those points I listed. Please let's hear some more I'm curious to what you think of kooks.
