WRV and Coastal Edge always seem to have a lot. Was in both the other night and they both had some real nice shortboards, WRV had some nice funboards/logs too.

    New off the rack

Make sure to browse the new racks at WRV too, lots of times at WRV they have new sticks discounteed at like $475, depends on what you want of course. WRV build quality is usually pretty good. What are you looking for?

Don't buy from Coastal Edge. The guy who owns the store has never surfed a day in his life. He'll tell you that. They have a pretty decent selection of everything but they just cash in on the popularity of the surf and skate culture. Not knocking him for making his money, but I wouldn't buy a car from a guy who has never drove one.

WRV and Freedom Surf have good selections. Great deals on craigslist too. Or if you're gonna drop 400 bucks, consider going to a local shaper. Austin Surfboards in VB or if you're willing to drive just a little try Tim Nolte on the way down the the Banks.

THe guy that owns Coastal Edge hasnt surfed but he owns it, Wes Laine, biggest pro to ever come out of VB runs the shop. I wouldnt buy a board form Coastal Edge either unless you want a new lost... stick because they have a huge selection. Coastal Edge at the ocean front is run by local surfers and you spending money there helps your local surf community, so not buy something from there just because the owner doesnt surf is wrong on the premise that your not supporting surfers.
I can hook you up with an ex-VB shaper who is now in So Cal shaping for his own label and mowing foam as a ghost shaper for one of the biggest board manfactures out. His stuff even with shipping cost is on par with anything else you can buy, unless you go with the 757 guys, not sure what kind of board you will get with them.

Go to Austins/ I had a custom rocket fish made by him and it is by far the best all around board I have ever ridden in 20+ years.

Juice Box Surf on 15th is always getting new used boards and putting them up on his facebook. most of them look really sick and in good condition. they are definitely worth a check

Austin, Heritage or Nolte. Austin is probably your best all around bet for a *good* board.
