I definitely remember seeing the plastic ones before I ever saw a fancy wood one. Wasn't there one called the Hand Gun? I seem to remember it had a joystick-style handle, but I might be confusing it with something else.
its a great price, but I either surf or bodysurf,no inbetween.plus u can always just walk out of mcdonalds with a tray and bodysurf with that.its a small market for sure.surfboards are a small market.surfshops don't make income selling boards, they get their doe by selling boardshorts and flipflops. best invention to come up with is something disposable.so people buy it over and over.people thought the guy that invented q tips was a retard, but look at him now
In terms of wave riding, bodysurfing is the bottom of the food chain. Everything else out performs bodysurfing. And I LOVE it. It's probably the first way all of us rode a wave... and we did it without ANYTHING. No planes. No fins. Nada. And that's the pure beauty of it. Just go for a swim and catch some waves. I'll confess that fins make it a lot more fun, and now I always keep a pair of fins in my truck just for that reason. But to answer your question... no.
