F*ck! I just hyped a huge stab hole in my foot. Lots of blood. A big chunk of my deck got me while watering my plants. The waves will be good for sure now haha.

    whaaaaaaat????

We live in NJ not California. Thats like saying Indo gets sick waves all so why should we ever be excited. If your not stoked on any surf then stay out of the water bro. More waves for the rest of us who actually give a s**t.

What you kidding me? The last swell we had was chest to head and this one is bigger! You know how big a 2ft wave at 15 seconds is when it hits the beach? Its bigger then u think and that is just the beginning of the swell. It is supposed to get up to 5ft! So stop mouching off your mom and get a job loser!

Careful, there. I'll believe that when I'm standing on the beach figuring out what to say when I wander into work 3 hours late with salt water coming out of my nose.

Respectfully I see where you're comin from...Im frothin to get on anyting over knee high at this point its been so ruthlessly flat all summer. I remember earlier I posted a pretty angry thread about how ****ty this hurricane season has been for the north east, and everybody told me to chill and that waves were comin...they didnt come..but now they finally are so I guess everybody's just stoked that the brutal flat spell is over. Bad part is now school is gonna **** it for me but whatever at least theres gonna be something

Ive seen 50 + dudes bunched up at county line in California fighting for swell. California is not worth it on a lot of levels.Thats why I skim boarded Laguna and Ventura so many years. Surfing the Northeast is not hordes of chaos so yeah i am excited about chest high.Wave count is going to rock.

Say what you want, but there's nothing in this post that is a lie.

I have a California trip in a couple weeks. I've actually been paddling out at the most crowded spots I can find the past few sessions just to avoid the shell shock of the crowds out there. I know I'm looking forward to the trip, but I know that by day three I'll be looking forward to home in Jersey and uncrowded lesser quality waves. Then, when I am back... I'll be dying for a point setup and long closeout free lines after I eat some sand, and by Dec, I'll be praying for people to paddle out with me since one other guy out is better than none, but I'll be stoked that I'm so warm in my 5 mil and that no shoobies are dropping in on me... Such is the ***** that surfing can be...

That give and take should apply to how excited you get for upcoming EC swell... It'll be good but it'll be bad too. Either way, you'll be in better shape after the next 10 days or so...

Feels like for the past couple days, I'm wearing out the Surfline cams for Nags Head & the VA B area...

looks like no one was right today...the swell is there but minimal. maybe at low tide it will be better. msw definetly is full of it stating its 3ft at 14s where the buoy is 2.3 at 11....wonder what **** they use

Yeah, if you go to the best spots in Cali then it's going to be crowded!(ie trestles ect.) Just go to a average beach break in Cali and you have have waves all to yourself. Honestly, ec from VB to RI has crowded breaks. It's not like this is nova scotia or something. I've seen 50 plus guys around here plenty of times! It's a friggin zoo at second beach in RI even in the off season. Almost to the point of being unrideable/dangerous many times. There really aren't that many places that break well on the ec so a huge population is stuck with a few breaks which equal big time crowds.

Anyway, good news. This storm is in our swell window now. Checked the south atlantic buoys. 25 foot plus se swell has been shipped and should arrive in about 50 hours. Swell for sure now :) I'm a happy camper. How long it lasts and local winds are another story.
