The shortest woman I have been with is probably 4’10”, the tallest was 6ft. She was a HPLB though. Nice rounded pintail. Singlefin. Etc.
People can for sure bury the rail just fine on smaller boards as well as big boards. Maybe you can't, which is fine. Do you. But others can For someone who doesn't care about cool you sure do talk about it alot. You brought up cool. Not anyone else. DP rides a LB alot, no one judge's him. Yankee just posted a bunch of pictures of him in CR. No body cares that he's on a LB. Kanman posts pictures, no one says wow he's so cool because he's on a SB. No one brings up cool except you. Only reason im giving you a hard time is this barry. You hate the surf industry. Through contests and ads and all the other crap they promote "this is how you should surf, these are ther boards you should ride". And you hate that. Yet your here talking in a condescending manner about people who ride a certain board is merely trying to portray an image. They suck and can't ride them. They just want to be cool. So not only are you talking down to people. Not only are you being a downer while dudes probably stoked on a new board. But your doing exactly what ther surf industry does. "This is right and this is wrong. If you do this you suck your just trying to be cool". Diffrent message, diffrent delivery, but literally the same thing. Hypocrite. Call me old fashion, but i have trouble keeping my mouth shut when people act all high and mighty and smart yet don't have the common sense to realize they are doing exactly what they are against. Trends, being cool, sucking.... you'r the only one who ever brings it up. Are there not older dudes on here who ride SBs? Pump just said he rides a 5'4. Well according to your posts, he just wants to be cool. And that's rude as fuck. So im opening my mouth. You do you. But your not only wrong, your disrespectful. Continue on.
Any beach that is designated as "swimming only" or "no surfing", with a large black flag being prominently displayed between the hours of 11am -5pm.
The Shaping thread got me juiced to build my next board... I have some ideas... 6'10 egg... super thin and stringerless. Single with sidebites. Single concave to vee bottom. I want it to be kind of flexy and I want to put a really small fin in the center box. It will be the biggest board I own, except for my big wave board (7'0) and my log. 75% of the time I'm riding either a 6'0 retro fish or a 6'4 shortboard. 25% of the time I'm riding a log. I'm 55 years old, 6'1, 190 lbs, and in decent physical shape. I'm not going to build this... egg... thing... because I'm old, but because I'm bored.
this sounds like a sexy board. Are you thinking about a True Ames Bonzer center fin? I'm inclined to stick a big ol' Greenough into a shape like that.
Next board i do for myself (after i get some practice and makes mistakes on others) i want to do similar. For bigger swells. Fast down the line surfing. Plenty volume for getting in early on big days and all about the barrel and flying down the line. Benefits of a bigger board in bigger surf but scaled down some so duck diving and getting out there isn't a nightmare. When it gets big and fast here a board like this is the best choice.
There is no sense in my discussing this with you, as long as you continue to misread EXACTLY what I am saying. Done.
