    New England Surfing is no stranger to some great waves. Since the 1960′s and 70′s, Rhode Island breaks like Monahan’s, Matunuck and Narragansett beach have been gathering spots for local surfers for decades.

    With the generous help of some long time New England surfing legends (Sid Abruzzi, Mario Frade), we were able to put together this series of vintage shorts to give you a look into the past and see the evolution of the surfing culture in New England.

    Awesome stuff!Thanks for posting. Al Merrick must have checked this out because at around the 2 minute mark you can see the first ever "neck beard" make a brief appearance. I bet the original didnt cost 800 bucks.

    Wow! Thanks!!! i really like some of the older surf spots pics on that site too- brings back some memories from some great sessions at those spots!
