the footage is not new, seen it a long time ago. But I do wish he filmed that larger boat, I'd like to see if they made it over the waves...

Where would you go? After the tsunami, we drove around looking for multi floored brick structures close. there's a 4 story building with a glass door that would be perfect. we're a mile or so from the bay, which is just a dent in the edge of the land mass. Look up Cumbre Vieja. Then do what this sign says.

those boats were racing out to try to get some tow ins, unfortunately tsunamis won't show up on swell info forecast so they were caught unawares

Yeah, I was in San Diego that day and surfed in OB. The tide went in and out, I would say about 8 times in 2 hours. Thats all that happened, but the entire pacific was effected by it. A bunch of boats in the bay and stuff got damaged because they were navigating the waters based on the tide charts and all the sudden the tide would just pull out and come back in 20 minutes later. Waves were all jacked up because of it. It was just like a swirling lake soup bowl.

Dude that's unreal. Those boats in the harbor in the first link had it pretty rough. In that situation what's the best option for the boat ? I'm thinking they did the right thing by charging it but then what did they do? Maybe keep heading out to sea is the best real option

That vid was worthy of a repost though, imo...still can't get over the reform! Gives me the chills thinking about it.

If a tsunami is coming, time permitting, I'd rather head out to sea than join the hordes fleeing inland. Who wants to die by being overtaken by a wave and smashed into the deep azz crack of the slow fatty in front of you.

I'll take my chances 4 miles out. And when I get back...the beach is mine!!

I have found that in my vast experience with tsunamis, chucka-boo-boo, that if one quickly heaves overboard a tubby human sacrifice then the angry tsunami spirits are placated & the rest of the people on the boat get to live. Bear that in mind when it comes to scarfing down seconds & thirds at din-din tonight, eh...?
