I looked at a catalog of ...Lost shapes coming out this year and/or already out in Japan. Good stuff. It looks like they packed a little extra volume in the length vs previous designs. I see Biolos and team took my unsolicited feedback. I used to obsess about length vs. volume, and they were all 1-2" longer than what I wanted vs. my volume requirement. That has changed.

Here is what I remember from the catalog:

The "short round", already released in Japan, is looking clever. RV-ish. AND the design is uniquely tongue-in-cheek racist because, if you will recall, Short Round, is Indiana Jones' little Asian sidekick in Temple of Doom.

They made another Bottom Feeder-esque board that caught my eye in the catalog. Biolos said its the best small wave board he has ever made, or at least thats what his marketing team said he said.

There are three versions of the RV now, traditional included I believe. One is a wider fish tail like the Weekend Warrior.

There is a new bulbous Couch Potato looking addition to the Domesticated series that looked fun.

Lastly, holy crap there were more V3s in the mix. Of varying variations.

Now, I can find NONE OF THIS online right now. No pics or anything. Soooo... just take my word for it and/or go to your ...Lost dealer and ask him/her for the catalog and if he/she isn't schisty and trying to sell off inventory you can probably scope next years shapes.

i know it seems like mayhem's shapes work for a lot of people, but based on my (limited) experience riding them, the rockers don't really do it for me...paddle like ****, IMO.

Since your experience is limited how many Lost boards have your ridden and which models?
Like most companies they have a ton of different boards for different conditions, with varying rockers. For example, if you took a Whiplash or F1 out in weak EC mush, chances are the board didn't work for you.

I test drove a Bottom Feeder for severl sessions a couple of years ago in the kind of conditions i assumed it is made for - thigh to stomach high soft wave and truly hated it. It seemed slow (rocker seemed off), corky rails, and seemed to need a constant rear foot push to keep moving.

I've had a couple of Lost round nose fish tri fins. much better boards for me.

I also had a Lost Shark quad. Grovel board that seemed too rockered out to grovel unless you were pumping like a madman and like the Bottom Feeder working the rear foot constantly.

I like the looks of his shapes so much, but havent connected with them for the most part.

seriously? you're gonna try to play the "wrong board for the conditions" thing?

the only one i've owned personally was a layzboy. was a fun board once up & riding, but i found it to be far more difficult catching waves w/ it than it should've been for the size & volume. even in larger (biggest i took it out in was chest-shoulder high) surf, i had to take off practically under the lip as the wave was breaking to get in...& given that model's low-nonexistent tip flip, it was a pretty hit or miss operation.
i've swapped boards w/ others & have ridden the original rnf (i liked this one the most of out of all the models i've tried...paddled well & surfed even better. would love to add one to my quiver if i had the space), sub-scorcher, & demo'd a weekend warrior for several sessions in a variety of conditions...both of which were uninspiring rides & paddled equally poorly.

I'd boycott any board that has to have a stupid model name......but that's just me.

I gotta say, I owned an rv.. I bought it to big and sold it right away, but I couldn't help but notice how flimsy it felt.
