https://vimeo.com/60714736 Yes I know, this video does not do this evening's swell justice I imagine leftovers in the am will be decent. Ryan
Usually these go pro edits are boring... Ryan, yours are all fun to watch. A couple cool edits and decent taste in music go a long way. Thanks for posting. Sick session.
Very Cool man! How do you edit this whole thing last night! I could barely post to facebook"Good surf today" Let alone go through all the footage. Nice Work though.
footage around 2:20 from the go pro looking back on that barrel is sick!!!! ryan, what do you do for work? you seem to make it out every good swell whether it be weekend or weekday. i assume some sort of self employment. also, great cowbell addition. just watched that last week.
Thanks Ryan! Your videos are always great and refreshing!!! Always captures and focuses on the swell!
Vid looks good, brother... I did not surf yesterday, but at one point I got down to the beach just to check it, and saw one freak 15' set. Mostly 10-12 ft peaks, but this one set was absolutely MASSIVE. Nobody out... just a bunch of dudes pulling up, watching it, and leaving. The inside was horrendous... not sure anybody could, or even want to attempt to paddle out. You'd just get pounded to a pulp. This morning was still solid overhead.
I drove across the SH bridge at 3 pm and there were solid DOH+ sets rolling through, breaking further out then I've ever seen from that spot
good description. that's what it looked like out here too... just too much water avalanche to even think about making it out to the break...
There was at least one wedgy peak that was easily DOH+ in Central Jerz.. I got a good lesson in humility. Hopefully someone here caught a few snapshots and posts them. There were a handful of guys making some bombs and a handful of guys getting destroyed like me. But yeah, by midtide, the paddle out was almost impossible.
great pic ryan.im curious to know, what time did it clean up.i made the dawn patrol yesterday and guess it was still onshore when i got out.it was foggy, couldnt even see the sets comin in,outer bars breakin solid 10-12 footers.i went home at 11am,and later that day the pics started pouring in.when i was out,it was a washing machine, grande sets of whitewater.i surfed sea bright yesterday morning, had to drive through foot deep flooded roads, all the businesses are still wrecked and out of business.havnt been over there since sandy.i dont get all the spot jockin shyt, because i was the only guy out for miles.my grandma lives there so i got to park at her place, but if u dont know anyone over there, the cops will probably tow your car.sandyhook still closed, empty sandbars for miles.if i went out a few hours later probably wouldve scored bigtime
cepriano... yea, Sea Bright is still in shambles. Hope your grandmother didn't suffer too much. No power to a lot of the vacant, beat up blocks of used-to-be homes and businesses. Still a curfew, too... at least on side streets. Sandy Hook is locked down 'till summer... essential personnel only right now, through pretty much Memorial Day. We'll see if they even open up then.
Wow, good stuff man. I couldn't help but picture Will Farrell with a cowbell through the entire video, but seriously, great shots.
Here's a pic they posted over on the nynjsurf website. I can say this was easily the size yesterday with even bigger bombs. I didn't go out. That size is above my level. I went out today though and it was fun. Chest- head is perfect for me.
Chest to head today went out at around 10 came in at 1. Brought the log out. Tough paddle out especially at the higher tide but I managed. Got a few nice waves, much bigger then the stomach-chest prediction
