I'm just curious about how they are able to live regular lives. I mean how is it possible to be a watchdog over that spot and then have time for anything else in life.

    Trustafari.

They should get regulated when they surf other peoples' breaks, which they do.

So if it's open to the Public, how can anybody prevent another from surfing there and legally get away with it? I realize that this is a "sacred" spot that some feel the need to "protect" but if it's public it's public right? It's no more their beach than it is anybody else's. Laying claim to something that is public is about as stupid as it gets.

Hey guys, nobody is allowed to drive on I-95 anymore, it's only for me and my friends who I know and like, all others will be hassled off the road, I don't care if your taxes pay to keep this road in good shape, it's our road now, beat it!

So, what you are saying is, what they are doing is actually illegal?

few things are more pathetic than an aging surfer who never outgrew the bully stage. If they claim 30 years then they're in their 40s at least, and that is truly pathetic behavior at that age. I may give the kids a pass b/c they're young and stupid and I was no saint at that age either.

    clueless fool

why dont you bring your famous tough guy act there with a hidden camera, make a video and let us all see how it goes.

sometimes you dont get to eat at the big boy table, its THAT SIMPLE, I think I tried explaining it to you before but I guess you are too dense to get it. or maybe you think your physical stature and proclivity to violence makes you exempt from tacit and overt hierarchies?
you think you have a spot at the table at pipe? seaside? please try it irl instead of whining on a forum. no one is stopping you from flying out there and paddling out. get to it son! let us know how it goes!

If you went to a public park and saw a basketball courts or disk golf course with people on it - maybe people who play in that park every weekend all year - would you just walk in and impact their game because its technically a public course? Behavioral norms still apply in public spaces, even territorialism. Its real, and legal, up to a point.
