Look Barry, no "puffy shirt"... Blew my speakers during "Very Long and Good Jam". Just connected and testing out my new soundbar, subwoofer, along with the rest.
Nice one Lance. Not one of Moore's older ones, Barry, but what do you think? Sound more like his mentor, Green, or Beck to you? Would have been better vid, if the surf theme had been kept throughout.
Worse concert I ever attended = Grand Funk Railroad. At Boston Tea Party, eons ago. They sucked and they got booed off stage, deservedly so.
Heard the same, but like Green, he had a diverse range. Never paid any attention to them back then, but they had a huge following. Story goes that when they were opening for Zeppelin, Zep's manager forced the plug be pulled, because he feared Zep was being upstaged, and wouldn't be able to follow. Grand Funk's frontman then announced to the massive audience what happened. Everyone rioted, storming the stage and tearing it up, forcing all to be cancelled. No longer recall which arena or year (69/70ish maybe), but it was at the beginning of their career. They always headlined after that point. Revisited their music, I can appreciate some of it. Jack Bruce up front with Gallagher, a few years before Gallagher's death.
I note J. Bruce is playing thret-less bass. He was a cellist early in his music career (Royal Scottish Academy of Music - Glascow)--no threts on those instruments. Rory is oustanding in that video. Too bad he did not survive to musical maturity. just opinion
Oh Barry, You moron. It's fret not thret... Sincerely, The Grammar Police Making the Interweb a More Annoying Place
I stand corrected. I was bleary eyed at 4:30 AM posting that, I believe, as I awaited the percolator to make me first cup for the morning. Other than that, you can go fornicate yourself....<grin>
Being great is not necessarily "mature". Died age 47, too young. My opinion differs from theirs. I don't believe anything "slash" says--he is an idiot, and a lousy guitarist/musician.
"But(t)" then there is Moore hosting all (Excerpt from 2005 radio tribute hosted by Gary Moore with comments from Brian May, Johnny Marr, Georgie Fame, Jack Bruce, Ronnie Drew, Martin Carthy, Gerry McAvoy, and John Wilson (Taste).). and many more. This one is cool:
