Oh my god, I'm sitting on my porch right now in CT, and it's 90! Holy crap! The last thing I want to think about is my winter suit!

i'd agree w/ that! i was far too warm in my 4/3 w/ 3mil gloves, 5mil boots, & a cap this evening. might be time for me to finally ditch the head covering & drop down to thinner gloves & boots! :D

Short sleeves not no sleeves... yeah Beginning of April I had some really red arms at first paddle out; but just kept moving my arms. But air temps were warmer back then compared to what we have now.... I got some weird looks at Croatan I guess for dawn patrol; but man I hate my full suit when its "spring".

paddled out in dirty Jersey last night to my fav spot that no one surfs- gilligans pipe- probably cause the water is always dirty. Well there where two summer pros out rockin thier 3/2's...they must have been feeling a little cold... im paddling out in my hooded 4/3...i love the 4/3, i could wear that thing forever... they imidiately give me the stink eye!!! maybe casue i paddled out with my hood on?? idk... I'm like- hey guys- did you just come down for the summer??? i kept thinking what would SJB...ummm I mean PJB do in this situtation... lol needless to say it took a while for them to lighten up... i was friendly... i guess thats what happens when you rock the 3/2 early...
i personally rather be warm -then be like "hey look at me, im rockin the 3/2... but im frezzing between sets!!!"

Instead of letting things escalate out in the water due to attitudes and stuff......I mean, I'm never setting foot in a court room again............when faced with "summer attitude" of fair weathered surfers(which is just ridiculous, I mean, what are these guys thinking) I just say this........

"Yeah, come back here in January and say that"........or give that attitude......... or whatever the situation is. I've taken the attitude that I don't even pay attention to people from May to October.

Hey Jesus, Camden's finest spots are shaping up good this summer, especially the reefbreak out where the old state pen used to be on the Northside. We just have to be careful now when "preparing" ourselves at the corners because they just launched a new police force May 1, 2013(dismantled the Camden Police Department and set up a "county" police force- more officers at lower pay and reduced benefits. Ha now we got previoulsy layed-off police chumps from Avalon trying to handle Camden. A rude awakening to say the least). So it's going to be hot on the blocks in the coming months as they try to make a prescence.

And I've seen people talking aboot 3 mils since 3-4 weeks ago. Now the water may have taken a jump this past week but........last weekend a 3mil guy came out by me and lasted 20 minutes. aboot a week earlier one came and started to paddle out and came right back in.......I don't know. Seems like there's many polar bears on this site who trunk it at 60 and shed the rubber prematurely. I don't know. As a rule I always wear my 5 mil until at least May 15. That's my rule and I stick by it. Detachable hood optional. You're used to the warmth of a thicker wetsuit, jumping the gun too early is pointless. If you have the rubber friggin wear it.

Personally I like rocking a wetsuit whenever necessary. They make me feel a little safer almost. Im always banging my knees on my board or something dumb. The suit is kind of just a comfort thing since I need one 10.5 months out of the year. Then when it comes time to ditch it, i'm uncomfortable wearing boardies and a T. Mostly because then I start getting the worst rashes behind my knees and on my chest from my board wax or something. A nice thin suit with no booties or gloves is the ****.

It's just as good as going to Puerto Rico or The Dominican Republic, especially the North Side hotspots. That's what I live for. BIG WEST swells rolling up the Delaware River. Oh the state boys have been patrolling heavy these days too. So I hear...........So be careful.

Hey Jesus, you play your cards right and I'll clue you in on an EPIC mysto spot somewhere between Burlington City and Trenton. It needs A HUGE NW swell to work, but it's flawless.

Im working on it! I will be training in the mean time....if its anything like the 23 footers we get here in jersey, i will have to be ready!!! and practicing my cutback of coarse... lol
Those spots are the best!!! we better be careful- everyone might catch on to the spot we are talking about- next time we paddle out there might be a crowd! at least we will have the hooded 4/3's on ....

Yes. With light/no wind, a good 3/2 with rash guard will be fine. No probs yesterday up here in New England with 3/2 (water was upper 40's). Two hour Dawn Patrol session until wind picked up. Heading back out at sunrise today.
It all depends on your mindset. Being a little cool vs sweating in a heavier suit. Easier to move around in the lighter suit.
