Nobody Likes SUPs on Waves

Don't know how many times I wanted to do this to those SUPperware chumps right in my trimline too. I envy that cetacean.

 

The porpoise had the wave and the right of way. Can't say the same for the sweeper. Locals rule!

I mean- sure the dolphin are catching all the good waves, but that doesn't mean that the sup should shoulder hop and drop in. Too bad that the dolphin threw his gopro into the water ...

Labor day in OCNJ some complete moron on an SUP drops in on a wave i am riding, tearing one of my bites off. Its an old O'Fish'L so fortunately it didn't rip out the fin box but will require some touch up work. I lose the fin and had to order new ones from Coconut Pete's in SD (great folks btw). Swear the douche canoe out of the lineup, head to shore to take out the other bite. Next wave I ride and kick out and some kid on a bic tumbles in on the white water and tangles me in his leash. I was ripping him before I saw how old he was so scared the ****e outta him and he fled. Then because I was having so much fun being pissed, i lectured some stupid dad pushing his kids into waves on foamies. WTF! I know it OC and the sandpumping has forced the kooks from the usual beaches but this people don't even have a sense of self preservation. One of those kids gets run over, I am sure that dad won't take any responsibility for his lazy stupidity. I dont know howm nay times this summer i had to explain priority and dropping in to people. I dont get it!

and to top it off, pretty good surfer is pushing an (ugly) female into the shoulders of set waves. when i suggest that he look before he pushes, his response is that I am getting all the set waves (mostly true) and he is teaching her to catch them. I was momentarily speechless! How can that be his defense. I pointed out that was how it works and he should know better.

So my tally:

Chased away 1 SUP douche, 1 ugly g/f, 3 kids and one parent
Lost: 1 fin and my easy going vibe
