I just watch North Shore again (with my wife, her first time ) I grew up watching it over and over as a young grommet and loved it, and henceforth still do. But I was pretty disconnected from the surfing world at large, and I'm kind of curious how it was viewed in the surf community back when it came out. Any older heads out there remember/care to comment? I mean there are so many great sufers and good surf footage in the movie, that despite how cheesy it is, it must have made waves (ya like that?) among surfers and got people psyched. Did people love it? Hate it for callin all the locals theivin scumbags? Whattayathink? -G
