Ok..so I have many different kinds of boards...6'2 Thruster, 6'0 Fiscuit, 6'6 Al Merrick Flyer, 9'0 Performance Longboard...just to name a few. I am now interested in a noseriding longboard. Does anyone have one and if so what are your dimensions. I've done some research and from what I can tell, the width of the nose should be a minimum of 16 - 17 inches. Any help would be appreciated.

old school logs and most nose riders are around 18" nose, length is preference but usual 9'5-10'2", thickness and width are dependent on weight. but the standards are around 3" thick and 23" wide, some people go to 24" wide but unless your a bigger guy it is not necessary in my opinion. and usually a square foiled out tail with 50/50 rails. big single in the nose. Hope this helps.

    ^^ what he said.
i'm 6'1" & about 195lbs. my log is 9'6"x23 1/2"x3 1/8". the rails are a bit more foiled than you'll usually find on a noserider, to give it a bit more performance, but it's still got the single scooped out under the nose & a thinly foiled square tail. i think i could've gone a little longer, say 9'8" or maybe even 9'10", but i'm primarily a shortboarder, so the 9'6" makes the transition a little less jarring.

Good advice so far... The only thing I can add to that would be... and I don't know where you surf... but if you want a noserider for beachbreaks, there are a few things that will make it more user-friendly from the true, old school noseriders designed for point surf. I would suggest that you keep it on the shorter and narrower side of the dims suggested, and you can pull your widepoint back slightly. Consider a slightly smaller fin template as well, but one that still long enough and with enough tip to give you the hold you need.

Thanks for the info...heading to my local surf shop to have a chat with "the man" after work. I'll use these dimensions as a starting point and go from there. Pura Vida!
