The largest beach replenishment the world has ever seen will take place in Monmouth County: http://www.nj.com/monmouth/index.ssf/2013/05/belmar_mayor_beach_replenishment_should_have_occurred_before_sandy.html#incart_m-rpt-2
Yup, NJ Surf in about 2 years or so will be completely vanished with a spot here and there showing signs of return...until the next project comes to refill it in again. Im glad I was able to enjoy NJ surf in its prime when I was in my prime as well, feel bad for my son though.
Doesn't seem to be much interest in this thread, huh? So what are you Northern types going to do? Y'all need to rally the troops. Let's get some info on here aboot what people can do. And hells yeah Mr. Sniffer, it was good to have Jersey in it's prime in our primes............It was a golden era ....well for the east coast it was........
I really don't understand the logic behind beach replenishment. Spend millions on sand, throw sand on the beach, ocean moves sand, giant hurricane comes destroys houses regardless of all the effort, spend millions more to repeat process.
